I'm looking at the 7800x3d or 9800x3d depending on pricing, but can't decide on the gpu. I'm building an aethestic but still good/decent performance pc so I was looking at the Hellhound Spectral 7900xtx but all the reviews say it has really bad coil whine. I was thinking the Taichi but I don't like that I would have to use Polychrome to control the rgb. None of the 4080s have great white aesthetics so I'm leaning towards the Galax 4070ti Super. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I was looking at R9 7950X3D with 4070 ti super Though was looking at i9 13k gen CPU I'm just unsure cause I know I need more than 8 core CPU but I don't want to loose on performance by not grabbing X3D chip if it'll benefit me more.

I've bought a 'Ryzen 5 5600X', and a 'XFX Speedster SWFT 210 Core Radeon RX 6650 XT 8 GB Video Card'. £113 and £221. My PC total came to £556. My budget was 600, so it leaves some space for a nice new monitor down the line. This build was mainly based on the PC part picker's budget AMD build, with a cheaper case and more money spent on the CPU/GPU. Thanks for your videos, I've watched a lot of them in the last few weeks to try to understand what I wanted to buy. PS - I really thought the thermal paste would be included in one of the components... not expensive, just have to wait an extra day.

Great video! I always like the CPU/GPU combo videos.
@emilemil120 сағат бұрын
Whenever I buy a new CPU I try to make it slightly overspeced compared to the GPU, that way I can upgrade the GPU another 1-2 times and the CPU won't be a major bottleneck. I would also strongly recommend to always aim for a bit more performance than you need right now. So basically if you want to play Cyberpunk at 1080p 60FPS, you should probably aim for a setup that can do 80 FPS. Otherwise you're going to struggle to run new games smoothly just 2-3 years down the line, and buying whole new parts every 3 years is way more expensive than spending a bit more for a system that you'll be happy with for 5+ years.

Because we haven't seen issues with the 'fix' I would be willing to risk it for the price. We generally know that it was caused by large voltage spikes and this hasn't been reported with the latest microcode.
@jamegumb729821 сағат бұрын
@@DesFTW_ Correection: large voltage spikes _combined_ with a manufacturing issue. With 1 part of the coin done, will the other be totally okay? More transparency would be useful. The first fix was not a fix and they needed to redo it, not explicitly saying what kept causing issues. Again, more transparency. Whatever the case, I would go mostly Ultra. Right now I only have an i3 from Intel (and an aging 4114 I need to replace but not really a normal desktop). And the crazy poricing and deals are nowhere to be seen in € prices.

Love your videos. Something left out that is worth mentioning, using the Intel i7/i9 or Ultra 7/9 parts does generally require a higher wattage power supply compared to the X3d parts. So even though Intel's CPU platform is cheaper, it is less than it seems due to having to jump from say a 650W PSU to a 750 or even 850W PSU compared to the X3D CPUs.

Honestly its the same rules as applies to a strong gaming pc. For basic streaming I would go for our standard recommendations. My personal gaming/streaming/recording/editing rig for example is a 7600X 7900XT and I love it. But if this is for work and depending on your resolution desires/settings going up a level in GPU is recommended (again with CPU that won't bottleneck it).

would you recommend ryzen 5 7500f and rx 7900 xtx or ryzen 5 7600x3d and rx 7900 xt? i play competetive games and also story games, AAA titles aswell in 1440p.

if you dabble in any editing and not just gaming then i would recommend the 7700 over 7600/7600X, the 7700 comes with a free cooler and is basically a 7700X without the tdp, and you can OC it so it performs like a X version with the same tdp as the 7700X.

What GPU would you recommend for the 5700x3d? Planning to stay on am4 and just picked it up on prime day. 1440p gaming is my systems main use, currently have a 2070s and 750w psu.
@kelley0916215 сағат бұрын
7700XT, 7800XT, or 7900GRE for AMD, or 4070 Super for Nvidia.
@matthewgrant422315 сағат бұрын
@ 7900gre recommends a 800w PSU though

I have an am5 system with a 7500F and an rx 7800 xt. Great combo. I got my 7500F from aliexpress which currently has insane deals also with the 7700 and 5700X3D cpus. You can save a lot buying from there. Just choose a seller who has sold a good number of the item with plenty of customer reviews and you'll be fine.

Hey Jason @PCBuilderChannel, I am going to build a new PC and looking to buy components during black Friday. What CPU would you recommend to go with an RX 6800 XT for budget build as well as recommended build for gaming, streaming and video editing with Davinci Resolve? I have a friend that is going to sell me his RX 6800 XT at a really good price and want to get a CPU to not bottleneck for my needs which is a little more than just gaming. Thanks in advance!
@kelley0916216 сағат бұрын
Yes good GPU, and any AM5 7000 Series or 9000 Series X CPU should be good with that GPU.

7800x3d, so should I get a TUF 4070 ti super or a 7900 xtx taichi? White build. 4080 and 4090 is outta reach.
@kelley0916216 сағат бұрын
XTX Taichi. Jason prefers the XTX to the Ti Super.

I want to build a 2024 PC with R7 9800X3D + RTX4070 super, but I'm confused about choosing the ASRock B650E Taichi Lite - AM5 motherboard or the ASRock PHANTOM GAMING X870 Riptide WiFi, the prices of both in my country are relatively the same, which one should I choose?

I'm currently putting together my first pure gaming PC (budget 1500 +/- 250€). Due to the current prices for a 7800X3D (480€) I was thinking of getting a 9700X (330€) or 7900X (390€), combined with a gigabyte 4070 super gaming oc (670€) or gigabyte 4070 windforce (550€). Wouldn't the 9700X be an alternative? (I am a total beginner)

Hey, I got the Ryzen 5 7600 X and I am thinking about getting a RX 7800 XT. Are there any significant differences between the different models and versions of the 7600? Or would you recommend another Graphics Card that’s cheaper?
@kelley0916213 сағат бұрын
No there aren't huge differences between the models. Also that combo is good.

I currently have a combo of Ryzen 5700x and a Radeon 6700xt. I am looking to upgrade the gpu to a 7800xt. I’m not sure if I should also upgrade the cpu to the 5700x3d as my regular 5700x overclocks pretty well. Will it be a worthwhile upgrade? 1440p with no issues is my goal
@kelley0916217 сағат бұрын
Yes the 7800XT would be a good upgrade
@BobbyO-ko4dk16 сағат бұрын
Thanks for the heads up. I was worried that my current cpu was going to end up bottlenecking the 7800xt. But looks like I can get by without the cpu upgrade as well.
@Jdogg408918 сағат бұрын
I have a 7600x and it's pretty nice. I'm focusing on the GPU right now and will probably upgrade to zen6x3d. It won't be too much of an issue since I'll be gaming at higher resolutions anyway.
@roscobearbent13 сағат бұрын
For a high end AMD combo, would the 7900 XT midpoint GPU?
@radupopescu424120 сағат бұрын
Hello there ! What cpu -intel , would be best for my rtx 4070 ti super , for AAA games at 1440p resolution ?
@kelley0916216 сағат бұрын
Unfortunately there isn't one right now because 13th and 14th Gen K CPUs have issues. So, you'll want to go AMD on the CPU.
