I'm looking at the 7800x3d or 9800x3d depending on pricing, but can't decide on the gpu. I'm building an aethestic but still good/decent performance pc so I was looking at the Hellhound Spectral 7900xtx but all the reviews say it has really bad coil whine. I was thinking the Taichi but I don't like that I would have to use Polychrome to control the rgb. None of the 4080s have great white aesthetics so I'm leaning towards the Galax 4070ti Super. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Some of us can't spend all our money on AIOs AND GPUs AND CPUs AND DDR5. You can get so much more value if you go DDR4 with air cooling, it works perfectly great 💪

@@corey9313 air cooler are better longterm as well for casual users, since a lot of budget friendly AIO are breaking within some years, so you can just buy the best air cooler like noctua and wont have any headaches in the near future, and can compete with watercooling rly well and also one of the best for noise

@@ariz2578 I just built my first rig a couple weeks ago, and some things I would recommend is making sure the case you get is wide enough to fit your components, my cooler ended up being a tight fit in my case, (noctua dh15 in a mid range case). Make sure your motherboard supports the slots of your required parts and is an amd/Intel board respectively, no motherboard supports ryzen and Intel, so get the right chip set. Make sure it supports the correct generation of your CPU as well, motherboards or amd4 and amd5 are different so keep that in mind. Make sure your case has all the fans you need, they often don't come with all the ones you'd need, I had to get two separate intake fans, and make sure they will fit in the intake portion of your case. Make sure the power supply has some wiggle room above your systems full load. Make sure the ram you get is supported as well, ddr5 vs ddr4. I think those are some good starting points. If you use pcpartpicker the website to put your parts into, it can flag some of these issues but it's a good idea to check the specs yourself.

I've bought a 'Ryzen 5 5600X', and a 'XFX Speedster SWFT 210 Core Radeon RX 6650 XT 8 GB Video Card'. £113 and £221. My PC total came to £556. My budget was 600, so it leaves some space for a nice new monitor down the line. This build was mainly based on the PC part picker's budget AMD build, with a cheaper case and more money spent on the CPU/GPU. Thanks for your videos, I've watched a lot of them in the last few weeks to try to understand what I wanted to buy. PS - I really thought the thermal paste would be included in one of the components... not expensive, just have to wait an extra day.

Thanks for mentioning the 5700x3d, I was hoping you were going to round out with the best min/max GPU for that processor. So if I look back in the vid at the 7600/7600x, then would you say the RX7700XT is the minimum? Great vids as always.

Whenever I buy a new CPU I try to make it slightly overspeced compared to the GPU, that way I can upgrade the GPU another 1-2 times and the CPU won't be a major bottleneck. I would also strongly recommend to always aim for a bit more performance than you need right now. So basically if you want to play Cyberpunk at 1080p 60FPS, you should probably aim for a setup that can do 80 FPS. Otherwise you're going to struggle to run new games smoothly just 2-3 years down the line, and buying whole new parts every 3 years is way more expensive than spending a bit more for a system that you'll be happy with for 5+ years.

You didn't get lucky. The issue wasn't as widespread as KZbinrs made out (it's what we call regurgitated "click bait"). Sure, it affected quite a few CPU's, but the majority of them are perfectly fine, mine included. And as someone who repairs and builds predominately Intel based PC's for a living, I'm actually yet to have a single 13th-14th Gen Intel PC come back with issues, and I've built a few.

Because we haven't seen issues with the 'fix' I would be willing to risk it for the price. We generally know that it was caused by large voltage spikes and this hasn't been reported with the latest microcode.

@@DesFTW_ Correection: large voltage spikes _combined_ with a manufacturing issue. With 1 part of the coin done, will the other be totally okay? More transparency would be useful. The first fix was not a fix and they needed to redo it, not explicitly saying what kept causing issues. Again, more transparency. Whatever the case, I would go mostly Ultra. Right now I only have an i3 from Intel (and an aging 4114 I need to replace but not really a normal desktop). And the crazy poricing and deals are nowhere to be seen in € prices.

The CPU will be bottlenecking here, the max I'd pair with it is a 7800XT. If you are upgrading I'd recommend dropping a 5700X3D with it. Or if building new I'd go to 7600 if you can.

7500f is awesome option, but 3070 has only 8 gb of vram, maybe you can think about some card which has more, to play in 2k or have more power for future

I'm thinking of building a new PC, well one from nothing, but two others that need a little bit of parts for some projects. But I want to know if a 9900x is good for gaming, streaming among other things, or would it be worth looking for a 9800x3D at a decent price to do all that? Also I'm torn between a RX 7900 XT or a RTX 4070 Ti Super to go with the 9900x if I choose that, I was thinking of a RX 7900 XTX but that require a bit more delay on the other projects. So what is your opinion? Everything is going to be 2K resolution on two monitors, but I want to know what would be the best for what I'm doing, as well as future proofing. I am going AMD, I have since the FX era of AMD processors, but it's the GPU and CPU combos I'm having troubles with choosing. I figure at that stage there isn't really any bad choice, but I also don't want to buy a combo and 2 years later it starts to struggle. Everything else I'm fine with, but before I go buying expensive parts I want to know if a 9900x with a RX 7900 XT or a RTX 4070 Ti Super is good or not for 2K gaming, among everything else I plan on doing. Someone please give advice if that would be good or not? Or help me choose be tween the RX 7900 XT or a RTX 4070 Ti Super.

9900X is a production focused CPU not a gaming cpu. If you are looking for the best of the best for gaming go 9800X3D. But a 7600X paired with a 7900XT is also an amazing gaming build (its my personal 4k gaming/streaming build for example). See our 9800X3D build guide and 7600X build guides for more

I am running a 5800X with a 1070Ti with 64GB of DDR4 3200 (CL16); 2 monitors, 2560x1440 @ 60Hz, and a 1920x1080 @180Hz. This is a work and gaming PC. Thinking about upgrading the GPU to a 7800XT or a 4070Ti Super if the price is right. Or else, wait until mid next year and get a new system. How do I justify a 25% increase in CPU performance with a 9800X3D versus the cost? For me, I am not chasing gaming stats.

No that's a terrible Combo. Well imbalanced.

I really wouldn't do that for several reasons. First that GPU is sadly too weak to pair with that level of GPU so you would get major GPU bottleneck. 2nd I don't recommend that CPU to anyone. Even if (and its a big if) if the degradation issues of 14th gen are indeed fixed like Intel says they are, it still requires crazy amounts of cooling and power making it way more expensive than its compatition for no performance gain (especially if you pair it with that GPU.) And finally its the end of the platform so you would have zero CPU upgrade options in the future.
