In watching this series back, I’ve never seen Zack smile and stare as much as he does when he is around Lisa. His face literally lights up, since the beginning of GMMB. It is absolutely adorable.

@@All90sKayKayMa7109 I have a feeling that is because they were “programmed” to only see his infatuation with Kelly which was completely intentional. They really don’t realize that Zack’s relationship with Kelly was actually pretty sad. He was almost like her Screech only he was good looking. He was always her second or “safe” choice for everything. Because she was pretty, fans gave her pass. His and Lisa’s relationship was so easy and organic, never forced which is what made it so great.

@@choppedandcruised Wow I didn’t really think of what you were saying, I mean I’m well aware that Zack and Kelly were heavily promoted by the producers which successfully managed to get a lot of fans on board but I never really thought about him being the second choice or her getting a pass because she is pretty. That’s very interesting. It definitely opened my mind up.

@@choppedandcruised You are correct. Zack and Kelly relationship was pushed hard. On this week's podcast episode, they covered The Aftermath, which was the episode what dealt with the aftermath of Zack and Kelly's break-up and this stood out to me: The big Lisa moment discussion: When Lisa and Jessie make-up with Kelly and Zack shows up in the hallway, they all turn on him because of his behavior. They basically state that he was out of line for rubbing the blonde girl in Kelly's face. and he says, "So, she wasn't out of line when she smacked me?" and Lisa says, "If I were Kelly you'd still be pulling a hairbrush out of your ear. Don't get me started." with a sista girl snap. Dashiell states that he has never seen Lisa react that way and he liked it. MPG stated that Lisa put her foot down with him. He seemed turned on by that aspect. Then MPG responds by saying: "Right there, Zack should have said, 'You know what, Lisa? You're right.' and then basically tried to date her. Because I think that relationship there would have been a lot better than him trying to go for Kelly." MPG has become a Lisa/Zack shipper. Dashiell says, "I would have loved to see that. SBTB would be a very different show if it highlighted the relationship between Zack and Lisa. I don't think America was ready for that."

@@pashun31 yep I listened and heard that too! To be honest I think Mark/Zack was ALWAYS a Zack and Lisa shipper. I think that the Bayside Triangle episode might’ve happened because he and/or Lark/Lisa insisted, I guess there is no way to know for sure but to me that is the only thing that makes sense. One thing that struck me about what Mark-Paul said about Lisa putting her foot down was this: The only way narcissists survive in a relationship is with people who do not take their behavior personally and who do not let people take advantage of them. This is Lisa’s character to a tee. She wouldn’t excuse his bad behavior and whenever she felt like she was being taken advantage of she would leave immediately or make sure she got her end of the deal. This happens in numerous episodes (1-900 Crushed, The Friendship Business to name a few). He would always go to her for advice too. There are so many levels to their relationship that worked, but the programming was strong for the two hot white characters to pair up as if looks are all that matter. That is a pretty dangerous message for youth.

I don't think they were ever endgame. They created Kelly's character specifically for Zack. He and Lark Voorhies have amazing chemistry though. He said he and Lark had the best romantic chemistry irl. He said his chemistry with Tiffany was more friendship.

Sucks how life turned out and her mental health I wish they ended up getting married I wish that when she is fully healthy mentally she is still in a process of healing just in case someone says they had a reunion I know but I'm talking about when is she fully healthy and healed that they will hopefully another reunion I wish God let them get married but he clearly had other plans I wish they whenever she gets to a point where she is health I would love for her to act again with him at least I take that if can't get the other man it sucks he has a wife and kids.
