Yea I felt the same way. In fact I compared the two to the Monday night war's WWE & WCW where "eventually" the WWE ended up gaining momentum over WCW. That's the same way I felt about Zack and Slater where in the earlier season's of the show, it felt like Slater was about to win Kelly over but in the end Zack ended up winning her. Similar to where @ one point in time WCW was number one in the rating's over WWE but in the end the WWE prospered over WCW by buying out the company because of them going bankrupt.

Watching SBTB "The College Year's", I thought they were going to go @ it again in that episode where Slater wanted to learn about his heritage but Zack wanted him to go to Lake Tahoe for the weekend. Zach got the first punch in but was losing the fight as Slater slammed him and punched him. They then scrapped but Zach never got the upper hand again. I dont think Slater really wanted to destroy him either

Zack should have called a timeout after the first punch and just waled on Slater while time was frozen. In fact, why didn't Zack use the timeout for most of his schemes? Super skeezy, yes, but he was a total creepy dude when you think about it.

In a few early shows Screech was at least given the "nerd smart" ability...but then the writers decided to just make him a complete clown...his character was abysmal

And it took till the last season for everyone accept Zack, Slater and Kelly to see that he was a lot more than just the goofball they thought he was. In my opinion, season 4 was definitely Screech's moment and greatly enhanced his character. Even though Screech was intelligent, Jessie was seen and portrayed as the more academically inclined student while he was the goofy sidekick. When Jessie was expected to become valedictorian because of her grades or when everyone thought she would score high in the SAT's, it turned out that Screech was just a little more smatter and was always one step ahead of her by achieving both of those things. Kelly and Slater figured it out early that Screech wasn't just a "goofy nerd" and treated him as a friend. Zack knew Screech forever and would always count on him to become part of his many schemes, even if he was the bait. Lisa, Jessie and others however didn't think that way and just saw him for what he was on the outside. In the end, Lisa began to see who the real Screech was and was grateful by the fact that he was somewhat of a guardian angel for her, which is why I think was the reason why she finally went to prom with him. As for Jessie, maybe Screech giving up the valedvictorian role to her was a way of saying to never judge a book by its cover, something Lisa was trying to say to her.
