@peterclarke72404 ай бұрын
The tragedy of Lucas, though, was that he WOULD have ballsed up A New Hope if it wasn't for almost the entire principle cast and crew pushing back against his choices. You can see this in the remaster, where you can see Lucas just doesn't know when to stop, and the prequels, which were the first Star Wars films in which Lucas wasn't questioned, and it REALLY shows. Yes, he's less heavy on the exposition, slo-mo and unnecessary drama than Snyder, but he was very much the precursor of that style of "treat the audience like they're idiots" directing.

@Auralnauts11 ай бұрын
That moment is kinda amazing right?The slow mo accentuates things that may go unnoticed, which is likely part of Snyder’s reasoning for using it. Since this slow mo is faked though, it works best over shots with little motion. The Obi look is just one of those perfect moments.

@@AverageTrainEnthusiast that's not technically true, because this still has some good looking shots. Rebel Moon has basically zero appealing shots at any point in the movie.
@Elvalley11 ай бұрын
@@krowbard that's surprising. I always thought Snyder was all about making "movies" out of appealing shots (in terms of composition, he does screw up with coloring every so often), with connective exposition in-between.
@mihailoveselinovic715111 ай бұрын
@@Elvalley Shots are still really good in rebel moon but slow mo is used in every third shot and color grading is awful. Plus he overuses the fog/smoke effects a lot, in almost every action shot, mostly over the whole shot to the point where it is a detriment to the whole shot. I liked the movie but it's too long and overuse of slow mo never let that mild enjoyment become something more. Idk what fumes snyder is on but he needs to let go of his style from time to time if his style is heavily affecting the overall production quality in a bad way.
@Senza3211 ай бұрын
I thought of one way this could have been more like Rebel Moon. The scene where Obi-Wan deactivates the tractor beam would be included, and the moment he pulls the lever, the Death Star starts exploding for no reason, like how the huge battleship starts exploding in Rebel Moon because the rebel leader guy pulled a single lever in an exterior turret.
