There are two types of Super Fruit videos, vlog episodes and music videos. The vlog episodes are mostly Scott and Mitch chatting, joking, doing KZbin challenges, etc., sometimes with guests. Some of the vlog episodes have them singing, and are amazing, but they are casual arrangements that they put together on a whim, with Scott doing piano or with a Karaoke track, recorded live at their apartment or in a studio. The music videos are for their original songs from the Future Friends album, about a dozen songs, with full costumes, sets, dancers, professionally recorded, produced, edited, directed.

I wish they would do a Broadway show! Mitch shows so much emotion when he sings. They grew up together doing theater. Superfruit isn't serious most of the time. They are just having fun. That wig makes many appearances in their videos on that channel. You need to see their video, Defying Gravity now.❤❤❤❤ Mitch is so good in it! It was a birthday present for Scott from Mitch. Superfruit started when the group took off and Mitch and Scott were roommates. They do have an album but most is them being them and goofy when they were younger.

Their music videos are all worth a watch - even the silly stuff. The blogs are usually hilarious. Mitch and Scott are both really funny. Their medleys and evolutions are phenomenal, as is their cover of Rise. Also - Frozen is one of Mitch’s favorite movies.

As others have probably mentioned, Mitch and Scott met while doing a local youth production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in Arlington, TX. Scott, who played Charlie, was 9 and Mitch, who played Mike TV, was 8! At around the same time, Mitch met Kirstie in a different local musical. Kirstie and Scott met in Jr High, and the three of them created a trio in high school, where they sang special numbers at concerts, and did a couple KZbin videos. So these three have been singing and goofing around together for a very long time. Scott and Kirstie graduated a year before Mitch, and went off to college, where Scott heard about this TV a capella show called The Sing Off, and called his buddies about going on the show with him. That was in mid-2011. They found Avi and Kevin to join them for the show, met a few days before the show, and ended up winning it all! Scott and Kirstie were 19 and Mitch was 18, and he missed his high school graduation to be there. At the beginning of the clip of their first Sing Off performance, they talk about all this. The first few performances were a little rough, but by the 5th one they were a tight group. SuperFruit was Scott's and Mitch's personal KZbin channel during the years they were living together. You need to remember that these three have been best friends since they were in high school. So apparently one day they invited Kirstie to come to their place for a relaxing evening, de-stressing from the day's work. And like many people they thought a relaxing evening should start with a few drinks, which then grew into several drinks. And given who these particular old friends are, their idea of "relaxing" also included making some music together. So at some point they decided they should go to the studio (so as not to disturb the neighbors - even drunk they try to be courteous) and record themselves singing a medley of songs from _Frozen._ I'm not sure who they got to do the filming but I suspect that they must have set that part up in advance, which would mean that they planned to do something at the studio all along. I also suspect that there was a very good directional microphone in conjunction with the camera. And all three of them have said that they continued drinking cocktails between takes.

On the mic thing. They filmed this in the same studio they filmed early pentatonix evolution videos and such. So it's a studio room with acustics and choir mics etc. Plus they are all trained theatre singers so they can project! So as silly and fun as the video clearly is, they still had to put the medley backing together, book the studio and cut those paper snowflakes😂

One of the best Superfruit vlog videos have Mitch & Scott covering Defying Gravity from the play Wicked. They do a fabulous job & you will get Mitch-slapped more than once! (Scott loves the play it seems & asked Mitch to do the video for his birthday gift.) (For those that don't know it, it's a Wizard of Oz prequel & alternate take on the story. In the play this song is being sung by the good witch of the north & the wicked witch of the west who were friends back when they were young, but then the wicked witch turned bad. That's really all the context you need for the song if you're familiar with the original Oz story.)

Yay for rolling with Superfruit! Mitch and Scott formed Superfruit as a vlog that, given their talents, included musical segments from time to time, with most of their episodes including bloopers that appeared following the Subscribe card. And it then evolved into the full-fledged album Future Friends of original songs that are way different from PTX, with professional music videos accompanying each song. Guy.Exe is a natural starting point. Imaginary Parties and Vacation are upbeat favorites of mine, and Deny U and Goodbye from Lonely are more moody and introspective. The title track is also fantastic, and The Promise is a hopeful anthem. Back to the vlog episodes, Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1 and 2 and the rap Feelin’ Myself are additional music episodes you may want to see. Loved your reaction to their Frozen medley, so thanks. Peace …

In the blooper reel they're playing a game that they invented in high school, seeing who can sing most off-key for the longest without breaking into laughter. From what I hear, many choir geeks invent variations of this game. On this particular evening, Kirstie lost when she dissolved into laughter and dropped out, after which Mitch conceded to Scott, who ran with it. And a fun time was had by all. The blonde wig, BTW, appears in many SuperFruit videos; she's practically a character in her own right.

This is part of the Superfruit channe's vlogl, recorded in Scot and Mich's apartment, so they have some professional camera's and mic's just around including an overhead mic. There are only about 14 "real" music videos from Super Fruit, for songs from their 2017 Future Friends album, though some of the musical vlog episodes are definitely worth a reaction. The most popular Future Friends video is "Guy.exe", which even had a viral TikTok craze for a while last year. A couple of my other favorites are "Imaginary Parties" and "Hurry Up !".

Superfruit did a few Evolution of music videos too, besides their album, which has full-on videos with all, or nearly all. I’ve watched a few of the vlog style vids, but mostly I go for the music. They do some great collabs too. Rise is powerful. How do you feel about the original Wizard of Oz? Todrick Hall invited them to collab with him on a modernized-ish condensed version ‘Wizard of Ahhhhs’ that pays homage to the original. This was fun!

LOL! I love this one! It's amazing how amazing they can sound when they are just messing around. Ruth explained the two types of Superfruit video, but I almost think of it as three types because some of the vlog posts are music, some are music+parody like this one, and some are medleys, and some are covers. Of the music Superfruit vlogs my favorites are "Rihanna Anti Medley," "Defying Gravity," "Empire Medley," "Feeling Myself," "Happy Little Pill" and "Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1 & 2." There is also a very special cover of "Rise" by Katy Perry that was recorded after the Pulse nightmare with all LGBTQ+ identifying singers including Scott, Mitch, Mary Lambert, Brian Justin Crum, and Mario Jose. It is BREATHTAKING. Of course I recommend every one of their music videos of the songs from their original EP. My current favorites are "DenyU" and "Guy.exe" but I love them all. Lastly among my favorites, they did a beautiful full-on video of a cover of "The Promise" by When in Rome featuring Adam Rippon.

Oh I hope you do Defying Gravity from Superfruit, the blonde wig makes another appearance. Apparently Scott had tickets to go see Wicked, his favorite musical (until the one he’s doing is released anyway) for his birthday and so Mitch agreed to do this for his birthday!!! It’s so funny and soooo good. Their medleys and evolution of videos are amazing and then they also have 2 EPs, with music videos. I wear a size 9 lol although who has a cassette player anymore. Haha

Pentatonix have done a full version of Let It Go - no video, just the audio track (well, a Yule Log video, but it's the same thing). Mitch and Kirstie trade off the lead throughout the song, and since their ranges overlap so much, it can be difficult to tell who is singing lead, since there are no visual cues to help you out. The final god-awful singing goes back to their high school days, when they would compete to see who could sing the worst for the longest. Probably helps to have a little bit of alcohol in your system to win!

As others have said, this was apparently inspired by being little tipsy. I imagine they were maybe rehearsing for ao ething else when this happened. Then to explain the end there, I've heard that they used to mess about competing to see who could sing the worst; and even when they are singing "bad" they are better than I can ever be lol. As for my fave Superfruit content...Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1&2, Beyonce, Rihana's Anti album, evolution of Lady Gaga (there are other medleys too but those are my faves). And every video for a song from the Future Friends album, starting with guy.exe .
