I just love how on point Mitch was in this video. There is an actor hanging inside the singer.
So Kirstie was on Broadway, in Kinky boots (you can tell how much her confidence increased from before to after) they also did the opening song for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (there is a behind the scenes video) and I believe Mitch was an extra on Glee, something about purple velvet. As others have mentioned the true was on Bones, it’s a musical episode so it’s worth checking out (Mitch sings Chandelier 😮) they also did a few things on Sesame Street and they’ve done some Christmas specials on TV as well. To my knowledge they haven’t done Disney or Pixar, but Kirstie and Mitch could definitely be a Disney princess.

Kirstie's stint in "Kinky Boots" was defintely a milestone for her... a longtime dream of hers to perform on Broadway... and the self confidence boost she got from that is very apparent in how strongly she's come out of her shell from the early PTX days. All three of "The Trio" have musical theater experience dating back to childhood up through high school, and you see it most prominently in Kirstie and Mitch. They both really try to get into the character, and Mitch's ability to express emotion with his eyes is amazing. In this one, even when he breaks a little when they throw the "snow" in, notice how quickly get gets right back into the character. If he can battle through his own self confidence issues, I think he'd be great in a Broadway role.

Kirstie was on Broadway in "kinky Boots" in 2018 (I believe)....which is why they shot the video for "new rules x are you that somebody" there. Scott voiced the character "Mouthpiece" in Centaurworld which is on netflix. PTX did God rest ye merry gentlemen on the soundtrack for the Grinch (2018), they recorded a song "Stars" on the compilation album from the broadway musical "Finding Neverland", their song "Sing" was used to open Thursday Night football in 2016 which they sang, and their song Take Me Home is on the soundtrack of a movie called "Butter" that was just released.

@Badger777222 жыл бұрын
If you listen to the original singers in the movie, Kirstie's voice matches them so well that it's kind of surprising she hasn't shown up as a Disney princess in some movie. She has spent time on Broadway in a show called"Kinky Boots". You probably didn't notice this, but Mitch actually changed his vibrato style to more closely match the original singer in the movie. PTX also does "Let It Go" (seriously) on their "That's Christmas To Me" album, with Kirstie and Mitch sharing the lead, and he does the same thing in that version. It freaks me out a little, because when Mitch and Kirstie are singing together, they match each others tone and style, and often vibrato is the only way I can tell them apart. When Mitch changes his vibrato like this, it matches the way Kirstie normally sings her vibrato, and I have a REALLY hard time telling who's singing which part. Everything they're doing is pretty much spot-on from the movie. The little thing Mitch does with his wig towards the end of "Let It Go" mimics a move that was done in the movie by the character singing the song.

About the scar: Kirstie was born with a cleft palate & lip, which was fixed when she was a baby. I suspected this the 1st time I saw her since the scar is almost perfectly centered & she has such a pronounced side smile. As far as I could find she didn't confirm it outright at 1st, but did say that Operation Smile was one of the charities she supports, which basically was proof for me. But then 3-4 years ago she: 1. Had a small procedure to lessen the appearance of the scar, so now when in makeup it's almost gone, & 2. She announced that during their next break between tours she was going to go back for another minor surgery relating to her palate. (Obviously went well as she seems to have not mentioned it any more after that.)
@thaiseathaydesantos2 жыл бұрын
I also suspected cleft lip, but I read it was a dog bite. I also have a friend with an almost identical scar due to dog bite. The side smile would be nerve damage, and that's related to the recent surgery, from what I read. I obviously have no sources, so it can go either way.
@tamarasmith90602 жыл бұрын
@@thaiseathaydesantos She has had that exaggerated side smile since high school at least from vids I've seen of her performing, & usually but not always that is the result of nerve damage. #1 cause of that kind of damage is surgery to correct a bad palate because they can't avoid all the nerves, especially since it's usually on an infant or toddler. It can also happen from certain types of accidental injuries (dog bite, car accident, etc) & a couple of kinds of dental surgery where the palate is ok but some other deformity is present in the upper jaw. So yeah, that kind of nerve damage alone doesn't make it 100% certain someone was born with a cleft palate but statistically it's the top reason. As a teen I had a foster brother for 5 years. He was 4 when he came to live with us & he had been born with a badly cleft palate, but not the lip. Because he had some other bad issues resulting from cerebral palsey (early birth + his mom being an alcohol & drug addict during pregnancy = brain damage) & needed a lot of care at birth they just did 1 surgery to make it so he could suck a bottle properly & then were waiting to see if he needed more. Despite it being noticable his upper jaw wasn't quite the right shape he was able to eat & even without speech therapy speak ok as a toddler & young kid. So they decided to leave it alone & not do a 2nd surgery unless his teenage growth spurt should cause more problems later. (They didn't want to stress his body with unnecessary surgeries because by the age of 3 he had already had 2 surgeries on his stomach/intestines & another on his leg nerves to help lessen his spacicity because they were trying to get him able to walk. Eventually he was able to use a walker for everyday needs where he just had to walk a few minutes, but for longer periods he would just resort back to crawling or using his wheel chair.) So luckily he never had facial nerve damage, but if he had needed a 2nd surgery he might've ended up with some too.
@thaiseathaydesantos2 жыл бұрын
@@tamarasmith9060 a cleft palate usually doesn't resolve so we'll, it would be heard even in her speech, she could have a cleft lip, or an accident resulting in basically the same thing, but the palate would not let her be the singer she is from the age she started. I know at least two people with similar scars from other reasons (dog bite and vehicular accident), she really cares for this cause, and doesn't matter how she got the scar, i understand it. I know she hates people mentioning the side smile, even though is charming, even Mitch and Scott made a terrible face when someone mentioned it in a Superfruit video.

Wow, three completely different explanations for the scar. Hmmmm Anyway, yes, they followed the movie quite closely. The first 4 songs are Anna growing up, separated from her older sister Elsa who accidentally hurt her with her "gift" when she was little. Elsa has the ability to make snow and ice. Mitch then becomes Elsa, who finally embraces who she is and takes off the glove and no longer hides her gift. It really is a good movie.

No, they haven't been the voice performers in any Disney movies. Kirstin could totally be the voice of *any* Disney princess; since you haven't seen the movie this is from you can't know how very close her version is to the original. And, oddly enough (or not) so could Mitch. His versions here of both Anna and Elsa are spot on, despite the clowning around (though if Disney ever *were* to hire him to do a princess voice I'd say they'd better ban Scott and Kirstie from the room so that he won't end up with a case of the giggles). All three of the trio have confirmed that this particular evening began with a few glasses of wine, which turned into several - in other words they were thoroughly drunk when they filmed this. Note that no matter their state of sobriety at the time, when Pentatonix (any or all of them) decides to relax they do it musically. It's like they just can't *not* sing.
