Snagging commemorative baseballs at Tropicana Field

Zack, I have been to the Braves new stadium SunTrust Park twice. I went last week for the Yankees vs. Braves exhibition, and this week for the Georgia vs. Missouri SEC Baseball game. I was able to get two baseballs at the Braves game, while I just enjoyed the college one. My first ballhawking review was that toss-ups are really easy to get by the dugouts, and bp balls aren't too difficult either. When you go to SunTrust, I would definitely play left-center to left field. It turns out that the left field porch has more room to run than you would think. However, bullpen tossups will not be possible here, along with right field bp home runs. The right field seats are too high up above the wall for a shot at a reasonable total of balls. The bullpens will also swallow up all of the balls hit to right and far left field. Therefore, I recommend playing SunTrust in left center field and going for tossups at the Braves and visitors dugout. I was able to get a Yankees tossup in all Braves gear by their dugout, along with a ball from a braves bullpen coach after the game. SunTrust has netting around the dugouts, so you have to go to the side of it for tossups. The outfield seats are very reasonably priced for regular games too, as you can get in for $15. The nose bleeds typically go for around $6. Overall, there is not a bad seat in the entire place, since the Braves moved the seats in. You will love SunTrust Park, but you will hate their concession prices. The hot dogs are $8, candy is $6 and soda is $8. 2 Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and one fry without drinks was $20. I love the Braves new ballpark, but it has horribly priced concessions. The kids zone is also pretty awesome, but they charge you around $10 for tix to use it. It costs $5 to ride a small zip-line. I hope my review helps, and I would love to see you this year at the ballpark! Congrats on 9,500 by the way!

Took my boys to try some ball hawking at the Trop on Saturday but we never saw you. We pretty much hung out in left field where only a few were hit at all and in hindsight should have gone to right. I'd heard so many awful things about this stadium but we all though it was fun.

The same disadvantages are at Miller park too. It always open 90 mins before a game so I never see the brewers bat. I always try to snag a ball there but never really successful. Only got one from standing by the bullpen, then the pitcher tossed it up, and another person gave one to me. I'm going to wrigly soon, so maybe I can get one there. :)

I finally caught my first ball on the fly today! Was a home run by someone on the Reds that was hit directly to me. Man, it feels good to finally make a nice clean catch.
