Great video and the quality is impressive, a group of us from the UK on our third attempt this October to get across there due to Covid, doing SF to Vegas with Valley of fire on the list before we hand the bikes in on our half last day so expecting to get in the Valley early hours which is the best route around in half a day otherwise we might do the tour in the van we have booked but would prefer the bike option obviously

A dozen of us were hired for a Tv commercial shoot back in the late 90's. They blocked the Valley off and we got to race back and forth up and down this Valley as fast as we could ride. Being filmed from every way imaginable. The helicopter surprise was the most exciting. I believe it was a Saab commercial to be played in Europe. We never got to see the commercial, but we were paid well and had a great time! Great memories!

@@AStrangerAbroad you said it man. There's no comparison to walking down a street just like theres no replacement for what you experience being exposed to the elements from the vantage point of those on a motorcycle. I live in Chicago and since there isnt much, its a privilege to drive in states like MI or WI where real roads live.

@@AStrangerAbroad Certainly. One suggestion if I may. The low angle shot was superb, but it wasn't color matched (or color corrected) to the helmet cam, so that footage was looking a bit over exposed and didn't have the red/orange color of the helmet cam.
@AStrangerAbroad3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I'm aware of that and figuring out how to color match the footage from two different cameras. The GoPro 9 on the helmet is brilliant, but the GoPro 5 on the lower angles not so good. There is a huge color difference between these two cameras.

Subscribed. I have driven Valley of fire and hiked around, but motorcycling through is on my todo list. Question for you. I always hear about motorcycle crashes and deaths on news in vegas. Is it that dangerous for sensible riders? Are drunk drivers everywhere?
@AStrangerAbroad4 ай бұрын
Vegas is like any other city and sensible riders have nothing to fear. What you hear is mostly young, inexperienced riders on sports bikes getting in to trouble. Lot of the accidents are bikers riding beyond their skill levels. Vegas has some great roads and riding. As long as you are sensible and mindful, you have nothing to worry. I hope this is helpful and you get to ride Valley of Fire on your motorcycle. It is an amazing ride.

How tall are you? Is scout comfortable for long rides for someone who is 6'2 tall?
@AStrangerAbroad3 жыл бұрын
I’m 6’1” and I have no issues riding the scout long distances. I love the bike! The solo seat adds about 3” so it’s better position than the stock seat for tall riders. Keeps your knee position lower than your hips for better circulation.
