My favorite technique is done by Mohamed Ehad. You just have to be swole af and yell “YESSSS SSS S SS” during each rep

I love your videos Zack. As someone who has probably used all the different types of barbells in the world, I was wondering if you could give us your opinion on the different bars out there as well as which one you prefer to practice with compared to competition bars. Looking forward to many more videos!!!

I added high pulls to snatches yesterday. This definitely help my pull vertically. I was always just leaning back so far and the bar would end up going forward.

Excellent content zack. I'm curently struggling to overcome fear when trying to hit PRs. I can tell I'm not committing to the lifts as the weights I'm missing are not far from what I can snatch balance, as an example for snatch . Can you please make a video on how to overcome fear while addressing a heavy barbell.

What if a person has very little to no foot movement though for their snatch technique?? (Much like a Chinese lifter) how would you go about the last complex you showed snatching to plates?
@Nedls56 жыл бұрын
Another awesome video man. I use those drills for all my CrossFit athletes who don't triple extend or row the bar into the hips.
@JinnDante5 жыл бұрын
the part between 0:21 - 0:25 is like talking to me directly. i can get super low on the squat but the speed under the bar is not that good. 1.88 cm height 84-86 kg weight.

Really great video coach. Just to suggest idea about a video, the jump position, Most elite just widen their feet with little jump , i can't seem to do that , i end up jump forward.
@ah70276 жыл бұрын
try placing plates in front of your feet and do it with light weight. It worked for my friend to keep her aware that if she jumps forward shell hit the plates. Ultimately it could be a number of reasons why your doing it and hard to say without seeing your form. But it could be that your making to much contact with your hips and letting the bar go out instead of pulling it up which leads to you chasing it out in front.

Hi Zack, first i wanted to say how much i enjoy watching your videos and how helpful i find them. Do u have any video in which u mention the arched lower back (like for people with anterior pelvic tilt) in the catching position in the jerk, i couldnt find any. If not, do u have any suggestions on how to fix it or do you know sources mentioning this subject. Greatings from Germany :)

Love these technique videos! You did some videos on footwork some time ago, would be awesome if you could address the problem of feet landing unevenly in the snatch and clean. Almost like my body wants to do a split snatch/jerk. Even when doing no foot snatches one of my feet will shuffle back slightly.

everybody has so asymmetry. If one leg is longer/one hip or ankle is less mobile, you will turn your limb slightly more.

Hi Zack! I’m a 16 year old and a junior in high school. I’m trying to increase my clean and improve my form. I’ve come a long way in a short amount of time and I’d like to be in the top 10 in my school within the school year. I’ve already increased by 20 pounds over the summer without cleaning or deadlifting once. Is there any way I can contact you to show you a video so you can critique my form and help me improve? If there is, please let me know. Thanks!

Why would snatching to plates help with "hanging out in extension"? Thanks
@zacktelander6 жыл бұрын
Because the requirement of picking your feet up usually will lead to quicker hip flexion after extension.

hey zack any chance you'll do a video on wrist health or strength? I can C&J 105kg already but still can't do 80kg snatch; feels badong man
@lukemadden96906 жыл бұрын
I second this^ 110kg clean and jerk with an 80kg snatch. My front rack is very solid but my wrist position on the snatch has never felt right and has been holding me back. I should be atleast snatching 90.
@ah70276 жыл бұрын
Snatch is a lot more technical. Most likely its not so much your wrist that's the issue but rather the position of your shoulders, or elbows. but if you want some decent wrist training exercises search oleksiy torokhtiy. He just put a video out about 5 different wrist exercises that may help you.
@thatbrokevin79405 жыл бұрын
This is amazing. Can you interchange these drills for the clean? Seems like you could. I’m guessing you have a video on that too? Also wondering, do you want total external rotation in the catch for the snatch with armpits facing forward? Seems like you would.

Hey man good video - gonna send it to some people i coach (its always so hard to explain to people who started doing weightlifting through cf that their pull sucks) but i actually noticed your pull looks a little off to me. Not trying to call you out but notice how your chin is down throughout the movement and esp at the end of extension- have you tried pushing it up more to create more tension through your back? Would be interested in hearing why you do it like that if its on purpose
