Great vid. Very informative. I'm TOTALLY new to snowmobiling and considering purchasing a used sled to get into this sport for some property I own up in New Hampshire. I basically want to just trail ride but I want something reliable and I need to educate myself on what to expect and what to look for when it comes to purchasing a snowmobile and your rundown of what to look for was very helpful. Thanks again for a great video.

Also highly recommend especially on skidoo take a tape measure and measure from top ball joint on spindle to back of running board

I'd recommend putting shr clutch kit and alignment kit, rpm composites chain case and brake rotor protectors!

A tip for the skidoo. It dosnt matter how much coolant you add it will always go back down to where it was before you added. When the sled is cold that coolant will barley be in the bottle. Where your coolant level is in your sled is perfect no need to add coolant

My best advice for someone buying a snowmobile for the first time buy something Dirt Cheap even if it's ugly Tinker with it toy with it learn about it so you'll be ready on your next big purchase on not what to buy

Compression tester is a must, not an option, auto stores will “rent” out for free most of the time and you return it when your done.

I'm glad I came across your Channel again. I really like the way you went through your sled and I'm glad you picked a skidoo. I am a long time writer of a Ski-Doo 1200 SE and I put 4000 some miles on and now I don't ride anymore. Long story. Also glad to see some Milwaukee tools in your arsenal. Love my m12 vac and m18 blower. Been with Milwaukee now for 4 months. Keep up the good vidz and hope you have a good season till you get your snow check sled.

I see you ride in Upper Michigan, did you make sure it has sea level clutching in your Summit?

Got and update from my dealer on my snowcheck boost today. More of a rumor I suppose, but my dealer said Polaris might not be having issues with parts or production, it may be an issue with shipping. Specifically a lack of truckers. Just a rumor but my dealer is seeing random sleds trickle in with mixed ship dates, not mine yet though 😢 so our sleds may already be in production or ready for shipping but just sitting in a warehouse waiting for a truck.

what issues are acceptable. lots of these machines are used and things happen so what do you say when the sled is not perfect?

where did you get those rollers to put under the track and skis to move the sled around the garage?

I always by non running sleds in the spring/ early summer so most of what you say I don’t have to worry about.

If the throttle is stuck when started on a skidoo it will still idle normally and not take off

What year did that start? My friend had an 18 or 19 and that still happened.

Half of the time is spent saying you should look at it and make sure nothing is crooked, bent, twisted, dented, broken... Pretty sure this is stupid common sense. But I work with engineers, so you probably shouldn't take anything for granted. I know how you have to explain everything like you are talking to a 10 year old.

A used sled…. We’re gonna look at a 2021… like wtf…. Most ppl aren’t buying one that 1-2 years old… ppl want to get the same $ the bought the sled for… basically a used sled at the same price as a new one….
