I’m flying from USA to Poland this year after 17 years since the last time and I’m planning to visit Zakopane so this was very helpful. Thank you.

I was in Zakopane in January 1991 shortly after Poland was free again. I remember Zakopane very differently. Such a beautiful place. I was very sick and a lady who worked at the hotel decided to take care of me even though she didn’t speak much English and I spoke very minimal Polish. She kept making me eat bread with strong horseradish mustard and tea with rum, pretty sure it was a mountain home remedy but it did break my fever.

You guys are just so wonderful. I love the way you explain everything and the way you joke with one another. I am a Polish American. Both of my parents are from Poland. And I have not been to Poland yet. But listening to you guys explain and talk about the different parts that you’ve been visiting. Has me excited on visiting Paul in one day. And I am blind so listening to you and you explaining certain things definitely helps me picture certain things. So I can’t wait to have a tour guide go with us and help us see things a little bit differently and be detailed. I look forward to it because I love Polish food and I love my Polish heritage. I also speak Polish as well so I look forward to speaking a lot in Polish. And visiting my family. Thank you guys for putting this video together

Agata: I have been to Poland 3 times and my best trip was in 1980, before it joined the West, and it was the best of the 3 trips although a little more rugged/less economy " BUT"so much fun and believe it or not more freedom then regulated Polska today . The last time about 10 years ago, I was noticing very few differences from German visits. My advice is visit Poland now before it is just another disneyland stop in Europe.

Hello! It was so nice to see this video! My grandmother was born in Poland and came to the U.S. around 1925, when she was in her teens. One of my treasured possessions I have from her is a small, hand carved wooden box, with “Zakopane” carved into it. As long as I can remember, she used it to keep her sewing supplies in it, needles thread, scissors , thimble, and some spare buttons, and now it is my sewing box too. Perhaps it belonged to her mother, and was handed down. It was a delight to see the beautiful area where this sweet little box originated. By the way, Mark, since my grandparents settled in Chicago, we spent many vacations in Wisconsin. I certainly preferred the trips to the Dells, rather than those boring fishing vacations in Hayward or Cable. Mosquitoes were awful, lol! Thanks again for sharing your adventure! Love your channel!

Zakopane looks lovely. I've never been but I certainly will visit. It would be very interesting to see it in summer too. I'm from a family of lumberjacks from near to Krynica. Also a good place to visit. My family had a saw mill a few kilometres outside Krynica. Its still there but no longer owned by the family.

Very interesting to see Zakopane because that is the region my grandma came from back in the early 1900s. Poland continues to surprise me with how modern it is and how many people speak English. My parents were both born here but my grandparents grew up in Poland and immigrated to the USA in the early 1900s. They did go back to live with some of their kids back in the 1920s but came back to America to live.

Hey y’all. I’ve been watching since I discovered Polish food in Przemysl last March (I went to help WCK feed refugees). Hadga is a really good teacher and I’ve learned a lot. I love the casual, comfortable conversational style. Zurek blew my mind in Poland. I had it the first time at my airport hotel in Warsaw then ate it everywhere I went including Krakow and several spots in Przemysl. When I got back I looked it up on KZbin and yours was the first one that popped up. I just wanted to say how grateful I am. I’m currently in Ukraine working in The Magic Food Army with Chef Zhenya. Gonna make some cabbage rolls for our boys and love your recipe - using stock to braise and doing the red sauce at the end makes much more flavorful rolls.👨‍🍳🇺🇦❤️

Lol I am half polish, live I Chicago area, and have yet to go to Poland…. I must say I noticed Matt’s warm cap, and the shop clerk had the same….. haha I want one to wear here…. In the “Windy City”….. haha I’ve never seen it here…. Only see Packers, of course Bears, Bulls, Cubs, White Sox, and U of I caps….. I wear a cap from our local HS, but my youngest, my son will graduate soon, and I plan to pass down loads of school attire to my much younger brother in law and his family, that live here also….

We were in Zakopane in May, 2013. I remember lakes way up in the mountains, and it was still cold at the top of the gondola! There is a luge/flume ride in the summer that looked like fun. I also remember a small church that was away from the crowds. The wool market was crowded even though there weren't too many tourists yet. I was not impressed with the cheese - very beautiful, but not much flavor. Nice video!
