Great information I remember so we’ll seeing and smelling CHIBUKU being made behind the Corporal’s mess at Kalewa Barracks in the 1960’s my father showing me it in big oil drums I can still smell it to this day🍻

Too much. It's a serious issue. With the increase of the cost of living and high employment rates many take to drink. Also an issue of not many cheap recreational options i.e. no beach (except for Samfya), no free parklands, etc.

This might explain thy the Copperbelt records the highest prevalence of alcohol consumption and alcohol abuse

Great analysis @simeon that's one of the importance of understanding history. It helps us equally understand the present and sometimes predict the future.

13:50 They had their priorities messed up. Instead of fighting to buy Europeun beer they should have been pushing to brew and sell beer made by native Zambians and owning factories that peoduced beer.
