Thank you for this recipe. It sent my dad down memory lane when he would buy them for 1c as a boy during colonial Rhodesia. Same taste and look. Here in Zimbabwe we call them mafete (fat cakes).

I always enjoy these when I go to Zambia, I remember my Mum making them for me at Breakfast, I always called them tombuwas, I didn't realise they were vitombuwas 👍
