I feel your pain hahaha, kiddie rides are not fun to operate. Only if you are manual in control continuisly they are fun. Kids are little davils on these rides. In the Efteling you have little trains that kids need to paddel them self. You as a opperator are there to make sure that mostly in the station nobody gets hurt, while getting in and out, with manual breaks. The rest of the track it is the wild west. Its fun! Kids are kids and they play around, dont lissen, hit the person in the train infrond of them, maybe derail them, and laugh all the time. If they derail the trains and I walk to them to help and I need to be angry, but I cant keep a staight face when I see al of them laughing and smiling. I self have good memmorys on this ride when I was young. XD that whas when I was around they age of 6 and older. I am 23 now ;)

I derailed little train or what we call it at six flags fiesta Texas,”foghorn leghorn’s barnyard railway” 3 damn times. I became a goddamn legend and got the nickname of “kiddie killer”. No one has derailed it but me. This train ride was a pain in the ass to operate. It also was so old that it squeaked and we called it the squeaky bitch.

Oh man, I used to operate probably around half of these when I worked in Kennywood’s kiddieland. Absolute NIGHTMARE for me and I’m sure y’all can attest to how stupid the PARENTS could be with these rides. I once had to emergency stop our rocking tug ride because a mother had decided to try and climb up the exit ramp and stand on the ride platform when the boat was IN MOTION because she wanted a picture of her kids. Could NOT understand why I yelled at her and was forced to stop the ride

In high school I worked a quite a few Zamperlas (big and small) between MGM Grand Adventures and The Adventuredome in Vegas. Just wanted to share that the Crazy Bus @ Adventuredome (named B.C. Bus) is run in manual mode which made it a bit more fun to operate as hitting start initiated a timer on the panel for you to deliver a 90 second cycle. Also, the doors on the bus used a key lock.

I operate a mini jet at a small amusement park in the US, and adults Can ride in the front seat of the plane, at least according to our SOP, however, it does severely limit how high the unit is able to rise. We also have a jumping star model that technically allows for 2 adults to ride. "technically" bc, again, it sort of restricts how the ride operates and it takes a good while for it to climb to the top, and the adult seats are only slightly larger than the the other four. Zamperla kiddie rides are special to me but also a huge pain lol. Like c'mon, no restraints in the lower front kiddie seats of the convoy ride is a recipe for disaster (unless you count the gate with a window just large enough for unsupervised kids to climb out of). so. many. E-stops. Anyways, as always, fantastic video! very neat and informative !!

Ive operated 3 of these rides before at SeaWorld San Diego Jump Around jumping star and Happy Swing jumping star being one of the easiest ones to operate in the park due to the rides restraint system being only a bar happy swing is also an easy one, but the restraint system is a bit complicated, because its 2 lap bars and seatbelts as well and jump around, that was a nightmare of a ride, it keeps breaking down, weather the car is hitting the ground or tripping a safety mechanism inside stopping the ride early

9:11 I'm pretty sure that having & using the foot pedal control for moving the train forward is is mandatory for conductors on real fright trains?? At least, that's what I heard about freight trains here in Canada. The conductor has to have their foot on the pedal at all times, or else, it stops the train via air breaks or something. It's supposed to be a fail safe to stop the train & prevent an accident in case the conductor falls asleep at the controls. But, I heard this years ago in the early 2000s tho; from my mom's friend whose dad was a conductor. Idk if the system has changed.

I didn't mind operating Charlie Brown Speedway, I just didn't like that the ride heights were frustrating to people. You have to be under this height, but if you're under THAT height you have to ride with an adult... But since it wasn't a Disney park, the vast majority of people were decent and didn't throw a fit. But that "Jumping Star" I HATED. It was worse than learning to drive a stick. Let go of the damned key or press the button too soon and you gotta get everyone off, run a cycle, load them back on... Not user friendly. Loved Camp Bus. It was even fun to test ride in the mornings.
