You are a legend! Just 6 days ago we asked on the comments for .22 slug BC and here you are delivering! And you even used the brand I asked! My Uragan2 loves the ZAN in 25.5gr and groups perfect at around 1000fps, now with BC its time to make long shots with a legitimate shooting table. BTW, ZAN have BC values for each slug on the official website. And the values they say are lower then what you got. 20gr - 0.07 23gr - 0.075 25.5gr - 0.082 28gr - 0.090 30.5gr - BC 0.110- 0.125 (900-1000 fps) 33gr - BC 0.115- 0.130 (990-1000 fps) They dont specify what BC model they use.

Brilliant video been waiting for a video like this can't wait for you to do an accuracy test on all those Zan slugs you tested 😊

Greetings! That was a great slug-shooting test for BC best results. Thank you very much for taking your time and sharing your knowledge.

thumbs up. great content. Claimed already the missing BC function of my Labradar at the manufacturer. Hope they will implement this in the near future. Interesting to see how the bc climbs up with higher V0.

Excellent video, thank you. After years of lusting over pcp airguns, I'm closing in on making the commitment to buy in to the system. One thing that really stands out to me is the number of people using .22 over .25. Is this mainly because of the increased potential BC of .22 vs .25 or are there other points apart from more options available in the .22 range?
@farmacianova3509Ай бұрын
There are a lot of countries that have a .22 legal limit, above it enters Gunpowder rules. That is one of the main motives. And in .25 you enter heavier ammunition territory that needs more air (less shots per fill) and makes more noise per shot (more power needed). That said, both are great, the best is to have one gun of each! :D

Exactly! Bc is different at each speed, barrel profile and weather variables. So for me/us giving Bc is huge misleading.

I have been waiting for this kind of information, the slugs I'm using, H&N 30grn, have a listed BC of 0.104, but no information at which speed this is relevant to. I'm shooting at 960fps and the drop at distance I'm getting would indicate a higher BC. Will you be repeating this exercise with any other brands of slugs?
@AimSmallАй бұрын
I will most certainly do, I still have some H&N slugs left for testing, I thought i would do the ZAN's first as I couldn't get any BC info on them. The H&N BC charts are on their website. Also remember that air density, temperature, humidity and wind can also severely effect BC. The ones on the websites is usually shot at about 950 fps, but I don't know the other weather conditions they use. Let me pop Jorg at H&N a mail and see if he replies.

Hello friend, I'm from Brazil and I would like to ask you or someone here who can help me. I notice on my Avenger that the BC has some instability over long distances. For example, if I shoot a 23 grain slug at a certain velocity, say 295 m/967 fps and measure the BC at 80 meters I will get something like 0.75, which I think is good. But when I apply this BC to the StrelockPro for a longer shot, like 150 or 180 meters (137 to 164 yards) the point of impact does not match the APP, it is usually 1 MRAD lower than expected, and the BC goes to something like 0.67 or even smaller. Is this normal due to the drop in speed? I also noticed that heavy slugs, like 29 grains, have a lower BC than a 20 or 21 grain, even shooting at 930 fps. Maybe the pipe doesn't stabilize them because they are longer.
@AimSmallАй бұрын
Sounds like the BC you use might not be 100% correct. The BC is build on the difference in speed of the projectile over distance, thus the BC shouldn't change as the speed changes over the distance. Not all slugs will have a better BC if you go up in weight, depending on the skirt, shape, hollow point etc. they might differ on different weights. Pellets for example has a better BC at 650fps than 1000 fps, due to the skirt slowing the projectile down faster on faster speeds.

@@AimSmall The strange thing is that, if I set the BC to 150 meters, in closer shots there is an error in height, the shots hit higher than expected. I thought maybe it could be because the gun doesn't stabilize long slugs well and at long range they start to swing and generate more drag. But I will do more tests at perhaps a maximum of 130 meters. It's a great distance already.

@@cesarmuller8962 Double check your scope hight as well, a small difference there can influence the the clicks you need per BC.
