Nice Jack !!!! I fish the Midlands canals for them, one of my favourites species to catch, up there with river Chub.

That's one fish that has eluded me and was on this year's target list! Hopefully we can get on top of this virus sooner rather than later???? Great video it's really interesting to see the animals you film in their natural environments 😉👍

Wish we had this fish in Ireland, the zanders a lovely fish and I've noticed it looks more pike - like when young and as they get larger ( + 40 inches and + 15lbs) they take on a more perch shaped body

They're related to perch, but here in England you're meant to kill them if you catch them as theyre classed as invasive and murder everything under 10CM🤣

@@stevecolclough4108 Yes I know. But I think England should just accept them as a new species as they have established themselves quite well in the ecosystem and nature has found balance again it seems
