I love Zane, he’s unironically some of the best Autistic representation in media. Yes, he’s autistic, you can’t convince me otherwise. As for him being a robot, that’s just another part of him. It’s like how I’m both autistic, and dyslexic. Ah…I love ninjago, it’s one of my favorite shows ever.

@luffaplaysstuff good question, im not sure tbh, Cryptor (and all the nindroids created in S3 specifically) seems to act more like neurotypical nindroid than Zane, but it could be that we have mostly seen him taking orders and hating Zane i need to rewatch season 3 and day of the departed to take notes specifically about cryptor

No they did not. Zane was originally meant to be a prototype and his funny switch wasn't on either. He's different because he's one of the earliest models ever. Mr.E was his more advanced version and Pixal was also already built as a more advanced version as well.

@@neonice being a prototype doesnt make him less neurodivergent compared to almost all other nindroids though, he still shows irrational behaviour thats not seen in other robots and nindroids that also doesnt come from living with the ninja, which in this case, its neurovidergent since nindroids and AIs are a species of people in ninjago, also, he literally rebuilt himself and still choose to keep stuff similar to his original build (like the funny switch), which is something a neurotypical nindroid would NOT do, because its an irrational behaviour, its not logical nor efficient to do that, but zane did it anyways, the same way he chose to use the divers suit in seabound because he wanted to look cool like his friends even if he didnt needed it to breathe. Most AIs in ninjago would avoid these behaviours, or question them at the very least, but Zane does stuff for the fun of it, and waaay more often than other nindroids like pixal

you know what. screw it. i’m saying them anyway. most of these are because i like the character so i gave them my issues. in no particular order: cole - ADHD zane - autistic (obviously) jay - autistic and ADHD but with an emphasis on the ADHD (to me he’s an AuDHDer) arin - autistic. just look at him geo - autistic (with a spritz of separation anxiety disorder/abandonment issues but i don’t think that counts as neurodivergence. oh well he’s neurodivergent to me because i love him) i can’t think of anymore please share your headcanons yippeeee!!!

The whole idea of making Zane a robot because of how he acted autistic-coded in the pilot is kinda ick but they redeemed it by making other robot character straight up not act the same besides maybe Echo and early early Pix. It is a common interest between me and my 10yo younger brother, which really makes us bond, where the age difference otherwise makes it a little challeging. This also taught me a few things. No, I'm with you. I 100% see Zane as Neurodivergent. Even if he is a robot he still has those vibes. A lot of the time autism and robots are linked in more of a negative way how people on the spectrum are more of a emotionless robot who just CANT get it. Zane is the opposite sure he doesn't get things a lot of the time but arguably even though he is a robot he is the most human of the ninja. The guy *spoilers* literally sacrificed himself because he cares. Moreover the show treats Zane finding out he is a robot and more of it's Zane finding out how his body and mind works. I have a friend who hasn't been diagnosed for autism yet but a lot of my friends are certain they are. My friend when they watched Ninjago really related to Zane. In short yeah, it's not just you who thinks Zane is Neurodivergent.
