Fun fact : I went to Disneyland for my 7th birthday and bought gifts for my 2 best friends from the disney gift shop. I lost them in the park and was SAD- i was still teary eye while getting on a car ride. A disney employee saw me and spoke with me, I explained to her why i was sad. It emphasizes children understanding WHY they are receiving consequences and why boundaries are set instead of recieving punishment just “because I am the parent and I say so” the goal is to increase the child’s self-awareness so they can better self regulate. It includes everything besides physical discipline like spanking. Pretty much every parent participates in gentle parenting unless they are including spanking and consequence without explanation. I hate when people automatically label bad parenting with “gentle parenting”. Thats not what gentle parenting is.
