20:32 This shopping street is called "DOUGUYA-SUJI". In this case, "DOUGU" are cooking utensils, and it was said that people who run food shops in Osaka need everything they need. Now it seems that they also offer food sample production experiences for foreign tourists. By the way, SAKE47 is a sake festival, and it seems that we were able to taste sake that represents various parts of Japan.

That's one thing about Japan: when visiting, people need to pack their patience and just be prepared to stand in long lines. They are very organized, and the lines do go fast.

As someone who lived in Osaka during my university days, I'm really happy that you went to Umeda. Foreign tourists often visit Minami (meaning south) or Namba, Dotonbori, or Shinsaibashi areas, but Umeda, also known as Kita (meaning north), is also one of Osaka's representative downtown areas. is. In particular, the underground shopping mall in Umeda called Umechika is probably the largest in Japan and is nicknamed the Umeda Dungeon because it is easy to get lost there. Umeda is currently undergoing redevelopment, so new facilities are still being built. It might be different next time you come.

For anyone wondering about the giant gachapan the deal is that you spend 5,000 yen inside Umeda station. That means at the food stalls, dept stores, whatever. You take your receipts back to the giant gachapon workers and you get a spin. Bottom tier prize is a pack of candy and top prize is a switch. Possible to win nothing too though lol I believe it’s up one weekend every month.

Osaka is a friendlier and more compact version of Tokyo. It's less populated, and it's easier to move around.

Here’s the area where I usually live. I’m happy to hear good things about Osaka! One great thing about Osaka is that it’s closer to many tourist spots compared to Tokyo. Also, hotels and food are generally cheaper here than in Tokyo. But recently, there are a lot of foreign tourists, so I'd love recommendations for places that locals go, too.

Osaka for the win. I always rush through it and leave needing more. Planning a trip for 2025 with 2 weeks solely based in osaka

Been watching all of Zane's Japan videos because i already planned my trip to Tokyo mainly. Got my tickets and my hotel. 14 days in late December to early January. Going there on my first flight EVER by myself. Which brings me to my question, would a tour guide be necessary or a waste? I got an itinerary but have 4 days with nothing planned but some ideas. Zane is a well seasoned traveler so I can't match his vibe as a newbie.
@zanetravelАй бұрын
I wouldn't recommend a tour guide, personally. It's safe to explore Japan on your own :)
