For some reason this zone gives me the most nostalgia out of any other. Every time I hear it I can recall really specific memories of questing there and what was happening in my life at that time. Chills me every time.

Me too. I have very specific memories tied to each zone. I can hear the music from a zone and immediately identify when I quested there first and what was going on outside of Azaroth. : )

Iv lived in NY,NY, New Jersey, Maine, NC, and Washington state. Iv worked on farms, boats, in shops. Iv hiked and sailed all over and around America, but I must say: Being a total jobless drop out WoW addict for 1.5 years was the one of the most interesting and mind altering places I've ever been. It was like taking a 1.5 year vacation on some higher plane of existence.

Tanzz XRP The experience of dropping out hard on WoW is so unique. It's akin to dealing with severe PTSD, being an entrepreneur, being involved in a military conflict, or taking hallucinogens. There are few who know, and there are many who have no idea... until they "take the plunge". YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!!!

During Burning Crusade.. Most Nostalgia iv ever felt in my life during that period of WoW.. And vanilla also.. I miss it. BUT, when i played WoD beta at Blizzcon 2013, i felt a lil bit of Vanilla/BC vibes comin back. Not alot, but just a lil.

Listening in 2023 ❤ WoW used to be such a huge part of my life: a much more innocent and energetic time. The beauty of WoW's music is unlike any other game. Doesn't matter how much time has passed, I'm immediately teleported to the time I first set foot in the colorful blue landscape of Zangermarsh and recall the same feeling of awe and wonder. It's the same for each zone in vanilla and the early expansions. Nothing can compare. I miss it.

This brings tears in my eyes realizing it is already 8 years ago when I started playing World of Warcraft. This game has become a part of my youth and I enjoyed every moment of it. I've stopped playing at the end of Wrath of the Lich King which is also a long time ago (mid 2010). But still I come back every now and then to listen to the this epic music and it gives me the chills and want to go back to those moment where I played with my Nephew and friends and had no worries being a 16-20 year old kid. Just felt like needing a place to express my feelings. WoW in my heart

I believe it's the Indian flute (combined with everything else, really,) that gives it such an amazing otherworldly touch. A complete masterpiece as is the entire soundtrack of the whole game. This track in particular just makes you want to dive right into the luminescent waters of these marshes and swim with the Naga..

It was always curious that Blizzard opted for the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj soundtrack as a template for Zangarmarsh, the only relation between the two I could find was Blacksting, a large wasp in Zangarmarsh that somewhat resembled the profile of the Silithid's of Silithus, exactly where Temple of Ahn'Qiraj resides and the Cenarion Circle that was also responsible for the Southern Gates of Ahn'Qiraj circa 2006.

It's beautiful how this song is riddled with hindu-inspired instruments and rhythm, just how the Draenei are inspired by such culture~ You can see their main cities have merchants with turbans upon their heads, some buildings have small rooms with tapestry, pillows scattered around the floor and Hookahs. Oh, and how to forget both genres /dance~?

I agree with you my friend. The music's name is called "Origins" and it was affected by the Ahn'Quraj music score (just some months before TBC release). Silithus Valey is a desert and Blizard adds culture characteristics to the music scores (for exapmle, remember the Scandiavian violin music in Grizzly Hills). I always love WoW music. :)

[2006-2010] Constant WoW gameplay until a voice in my head told me not to resubscribe. So I listened; found myself in other worlds throughout the year, until next week. Then i'll have my main & Acturis crawl out of a cave to see "wth has happened to Azeroth". (lol) I enjoyed questing here and at times between heroics i still made my way out to visit Outlands like the Marsh.

Best zone ever. I quit WoW almost a year ago, and I still listen to this. Might make a trial account and get some friends to summon me to Zangarmarsh on top of a mushroom, so that I can just sit and listen and absorb the ambience. It was during Burning Crusade that I first made it to the high level content. The design of the new starting zones and capital cities was amazing, and it was kind of disappointing to venture out of the Ghostlands as my Paladin and go back to what seemed like the inferior old world. That grind from 20-58 helped build up the anticipation for Outland, though, and boy... Outland just completely blew me away.

Everyone I knew in game hated Zangarmarsh. For some reason I love it. Hellfire Peninsula was so epic the first time you stepped through the Dark Portal. Us old Vanilla players were amazed. Right when you were getting tired or fighting Fel Orcs and being ganked by the Fel Reaver you were sent to the tranquil Zang. I never liked Terokkar but then you got to Nagrand and never wanted to leave again.

I can imagine the feel man. Hopefully you did experience the lvling as good as it was! That was half the enjoyment for me back in vanilla and BC. The exploration, the encouragement when you were able to kill a lvl 60 mob as a lvl 55. The leveling today is too much prepared. Back in Vanilla/BC you really had to wander around and find your way through. Now you just blindly follow where the one quest leads you to the other and suddenly you're there. Keep that memory! ;)
