Wow, just discovered your channel, such a big upgrade for the smaller tank I seen in the last video. Looks great! Do you still use the 3 part Aquaforrest system for supplementing nutrients?

@@ReefNerd that's awesome. found your channel when i was looking for ich treatment. started seeing the white spots 2 weeks ago and tank has been dosed with polyp lab medic on it's 11th day now and problems don't disappear. i've added eheim reeflex800 UV, running very low flow, for my 480L tank. some have recommended me to catch all fish and put in QT to treat with seachems cupramine etc but i am worried i will make it worse by catching them and streessing them out. anything else i can do to improve apart from more feeding etc?

Well. That's Xmas sorted! 😁😁 How's this go with Aptaisia that's wedged among rocks and not easy to get to? (May be time for a lapel mic, btw. Just a thought 😉)

Fine as long as you can get the torch positioned properly... if not.. its going to be hard no matter what solution you wanna use. I know the audio is crap :P its on my to-improve list haha just been lazy!

Hi!! Love your channel BTW! I set up a 7 foot cade 6 months ago & I too have maxspect gyres one on either end as you do. I’m curious what %, mode & seconds between pulses you use for your tank??

About 30% power constant. The XF350's are oversized for my tank so I run them low.

Can u not use a shop vac to pull out/damage the Xenia before treatment

It’s ok , if aptaisia are really easy to get too . But after a few uses Realise it’s to bulky , button pain in arse to keep pressed down .I bought one , two weeks later gave it to my LFS , so their could lend it . The idea is sound , just need to slim it down , and make button easy .

For me the natural predation always worked on aiptasia

Iv had mixed success with peppermint shrimp, for me they only eat the small ones... sometimes
@akhilennium2 жыл бұрын
@@ReefNerd the common ones are Lysmata ankeri (maybe you had those) but I have Lysmata Boggessi which will also gobble up on bigger aiptasia. These are very voracious

Vermatids?
@ReefNerd2 жыл бұрын
Nope unfortunately won’t work on them. They hide in their shell

If you check out Richard Ross from Reef Beef he has had success using an external laser to kill vermetid snails

I watch reef beef and I love that lasers work. Was hoping this was another option as well. Lucky for me, I don't believe I have aptasias in my tank

You need a lavalier microphone, the echos are rough!
