I like Amiri Jeans. He has some pretty cool designs. And I think that’s where the high price tag lies. Because they’re not the best quality for $1k-$1800. Your paying for the name and design. Talk about quality. Japanese selvedge denim is the best quality. They come in different cuts and styles. Wear them for awhile and they age beautifully with amazing fades. $275-$400 depending on denim weight.

The truth is everyone copies everyone. Intellectual property is what is wrong here because the entire concept of intellectual property rights is absurd. The way ideas concepts of any kind evolve is through mimicking and building on the design of other people. How we determine what is a perfect distinct copy and what is not one is completely arbitrary as evidenced by the fact that you’re asking who is wrong. According to the law, Zara is wrong. But what will decide if they are wrong is how an intellectual property lawyer argues , not what is “true” here. It’s about who can convince a judge because again it’s bullshit particularly in fashion it’s not like it’s a new scientific patent

O.G. John Doe Amiri designs are still very unique and focus heavily on distressed apparel. All designers have similar articles of clothing, levies and acne studios have very similar denim patchwork jeans but they’re still their own thing. Amiri doesn’t try to be something it’s not they still have their own thing. Everyone copies eachother in the designer world, they talk about it many times, everyone on earth copies the Jordan1, airforce, converse and vans silhouette. The Instagram ads are literally just taking all of these designers work, and making it themselves with the removal of Any brand labels. It’s a disgusting practice

John Doe I get your point, there are some things Amiri has made that I really like, I recently got a bandana hoodie that looks and feels really nice, but there is a lot of copying going around in the fashion world. I kinda see it as video games. Every game tries to ride the success of others and some games just copy or rip off the formula, but others elevate it and put their own style on it. The only problem I have with these Instagram sites is that it’s literally stealing. I’ve seen people rip off Vandy the Pinky’s LV hoodies and sweats, places like Zara claim to be something they aren’t, and most of the time the quality is bad. I’ve seen several different places selling the same thing and the original is on Ali Express for 50 dollars less. That’s my problem with them.

You can get soo many different style of jeans these days from cheap brands like rungspun, zara, river island cr55 etc that look edgy and designer esque so you can't be surprised when you see similar jeans by a "luxury" brand but if you spend $1000 on jeans it's a dumb move and you run the risk of this happening and it will make your designer jeans look generic haha. I have never paid more than £120 for jeans I buy my designer jeans on sale I've had soo many steals.
