Sam Thompson has become a jungle favourite on this year’s I’m A Celebrity, and along with putting a smile on everyone’s faces, Sam has also spoken about his ADHD and how it affects him. Here to give us insight into Sam’s jungle journey is his girlfriend and Strictly star Zara McDermott, along with Dr Nighat to offer their insight on supporting people with ADHD

Sam is such an amazing person ive loved watching him on im a celebrity he has made the show this year and regardless of him having adhd he has put a huge smile on my face and brought so much energy and enthusiasm to the show how could anyone not like him or call him fake or putting on an act is beyond me

@@carolineharty I know! It was incredible! He was over the moon, he is a man child and I absolutely love him so much! I also love that that's how he acts due to him having Autism and ADHD so he was just acting like himself, it wasn't put on or anything, and I know that as I also have both Autism and ADHD that's how we act depending on how severe it is. While I can control mine a bit more, his is most likely worse than mine, it also helped that he just loved everything about the show.

I think my husband had it.. nothing bothered him, it took twenty years to get him to lock the car and close the windows. He would leave the mower out in the rain. When I tried to teach him to use a mobile phone and after five minutes he would say " right that's enough". He would lose his clothes, leaving things in a restaurant. One day when we lived abroad and he was flying back home, going through security, he left his bag after the check and I heard the tannoy calling him back to the security desk.

I have ASD , OCD and ADHD . I worked in a complex needs school where my colleagues didn’t even have awareness , they had some views of stereotypes in Autistic Children but didn’t consider adults and some had no understanding at all 😢

It's only common if you can got a private assessment. Otherwise you have to wait years and it's almost impossible to get diagnosed.

I have ADHD I can't sit and watch films with my partner I have to watch stuff on my phone at same time. I interrupt people not on purpose, I talk a lot I get over excited and to top it off I can't sleep to save my life :( then people tell me ADHD is fake

Hate to break it to some of you. But half of these late “adhd” diagnoses are false. We’re in an epidemic of forced diagnosis where people essentially fill in a form for themselves (as an adult) and get a diagnosis. There are some cases where ADHD is missed in childhood but the reality is the condition is 10x more obvious during childhood so if it was missed during childhood… you get the idea.
