That old saying, "horses are dangerous at both ends and crafty in the middle" makes a lot of sense. When you get on a horse you never know what will happen, will you make it back to the barn, and will you be able to walk. That's wisdom gained from 50+ years of owning and riding God's most noble creatures.

Had a best friend whose horse fell on her and severed her spine. She was in a coma for seven days before she eventually died. She was only 21. Her mother donated her organs as that is what my friend wanted. That was 45 years ago. I still miss her terribly.

@@chrispavlich9656 Even experienced riders often are involved in some horrific accidents----and some die too. Life is filled with uncertainty. 21 is far too young to die. Honor her memory as a friend.
