The title is misleading :) - It’s an over simplified deep dive into fashion business landscape partly because people often don’t understand complexity - KZbin videos can only go into that much detail. Of course, It’s unfair to compare brands across the price spectrum precisely because they are different models which the video tries to examine. Overall, genuine effort to declutter the space.

Zara is more of a Premium brand. Gucci, Versace, Prada etc are Luxury Brands. Most examples presented here are brands that are premium brands and not luxury brands. Given the Indian context we now have a need to create differentiators so just prefix Mass to premium and voila you’ve got a new category
@PurvitАй бұрын
Zara is literally mass market budget brand.
@malenn-2Ай бұрын
The thing you are saying applies mainly to developed countries like America or maybe in tier 1 cities, as a fashion enthusiast and a middle individual, I find it difficult to afford Zara's 5k rupees jacket or a 2k rupees freaking solid t-shirt, so yeah it is a premium brand.
@PurvitАй бұрын
@@malenn-2 that still doesn't make it a premium brand. Just because something is expensive to YOU doesn't make it premium. What's premium about zara? Is the material premium, no. Is the construction premium, no. What makes it premium?
@malenn-2Ай бұрын
@@Purvit Zara is positioned as a premium high-street fashion brand in India. It’s not exactly a mass-market or typical fast-fashion brand because let’s be real, majority in India can't afford it and i hope you know what does word "MASS" means, right? and beside when I said it’s expensive for ME, I was representing the MAJORITY of India, you should just live in your wonderland.
@PurvitАй бұрын
@@malenn-2 what is the definition of fast fashion and what is the definition of premium. What definition fits more in line with zaras business model? Premium brands don't try to play at sub 5k with new products every other week, and by definition that makes zara a fast fashion brand.
@aniketranjan91092 ай бұрын
Mate, I'm from the fashion industry and let's get some of your facts cleared, as you have mentioned when Zara sells a shirt for 5k they make a profit of 2k. let's say you are correct in this case to produce 10000 units Zara has to spend 3cr on just 1 style. You didn't consider garments that they have to sell at a discount. let's say that particular style didn't sell well and they have to sell it at a 50% discount making a loss of Rs.500 per shirt. think about it... The garment business is interesting but very difficult to make a profit. You have compared Zara with Snitch, yes snitch sells it chapter but then their overall quality is also cheap. My personal experience- I Bought a shirt from snitch and in the description it was mentioned cotton but it turned out to be cheap polyester, it was as good as wearing a polybag.

Bro, lol, you’re seriously comparing Zara to Snitch? Just take a look at the Zara articles they focus on design and fit. Zara’s boxy fit is effortlessly cool, while Snitch is still stuck with the same old regular fits. Sure, you can show off the same checkered shirt, but when you actually wear both, you’ll notice which one falls better on the body. And let’s be real, Snitch is just copying anyway. Even Urban Monkey is better; at least they’ve carved out their own niche. Slap “Urban Monkey” on something, and it still looks cool. 👀👀👀

4:51 fashion isnt number's game my friend... suppose if one brand sells 100 product and gets a profit of Rs 2000 per unit, then 100 x 2000 = Rs 200000... but if you want to get that figure with more product with less profit margin, then it would be 1000 x 200 = Rs200000... practically both figures look same, but in reality, to maintain 100 product in a warehouse you will need less warehouse space, less manpower, less transport, and less equipment... which means you need less money to maintain the products, if you have to compare it with 1000 products... so you cant actually compare it quantity wise

India really needs to stop treating zara and h&m as luxury, they’re literally cashing on the Indian conception of luxury associated w them, they’re literally the westside of the western countries, no doubt they sell a couple of amazing well built clothes that last long enough to justify their price if you buy the right pieces made with 100% natural fabrics, snitch on the other hand does sell a couple of very well made shirts in the 1.5-3k range, zudio on the other hand sells absolute garbage (and highkey cringe) which doesn’t look good and neither do they last

FYI, both H&M and Zara both are mass market brands and are nowhere luxury. In EU and US, H&M is considered a fast fashion brand offering cheap/affordable clothes while Zara is positioned just a bit higher. H&M is like Zudio in the West while Zara is akin to Peter England. So comparing them with Snitch isn’t a grave sin.

@kickassguy704Ай бұрын
@@demskemop7441 First of all there are no places akin to “Sarojini” anywhere in the world except in South Asia or Africa. All these brands are mass market and low quality. All of them manufacture in South Asia or South East Asia. Idiots in India flock to buy H&M thinking it is a good brand.💀💀 All companies inflate their prices when selling the same quality products in different markets. If Snitch sells in UK or US, it will price itself similar to H&M or Zara. Same goes for brands of Aditya Birla group. I bought a Van Heusen from US at the same cost as Zara over there. The same product is priced much cheaper in India. In India it’s a practice to kiss the boots of western brands. Anyone who has the understanding of global fashion would keep all these brands in the similar bucket. Coach, Brook Brothers, Armani Xchange etc. are brands which are above these mass market brands. Then there are luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Emporio Armani etc. Then ultra luxury like Birkin.
