Exactly if you listen to it closely ant is simply ignoring the bs opie keeps throwing his way. He attacked his political views called him staunch republican then accused him of being against gay marriage. When ant defended himself opie felt he had to defend his views on gay marriage too. Opie is being a jerk and u can tell its annoying the others they put up with it and make the best of it. Its a comedy show yet opie makes it seem like its drama filled show and so difficult to do this easy job. Hes complaining this whole show and upsetting the mood. I love how opie complaint about management forever then fights with jimmy and pretends like jimmy is the one always complaining. Then when Jimmy does complain its mostly to agree with the opester but hes too dumb to get that part.

@@nadiaaisha2632 that’s the best way to describe how I see it. I’ll be honest and say Opie was undoubtedly a creator of the Big Bang that started O&A+friends show, but just because you’re the first doesn’t mean your the best. He never steered the ship. He was crucial, but not even fully responsible except for hard work early on to build it. For that cliche analogy, he was honestly the guy who built it but wasn’t equipped to drive it once he was surrounded by everyone we love.

Opie calling Ant a staunch republican three times in a row then fake laughing it off when Anthony says no im not. That really is annoying & arrogant to tell someone what u think they are or act like u know better than that person. Especially Opie who has no interest in politics since he knows nothing about politics yet if ant has opinions he judges him like hes wrong or uninformed. Then he judges him unfairly & incorrectly when he says i thought youd be against gay marriage. The gay marriage argument is there for dumbies like opie who know nothing bout politics so they can have a opinion one side or the other. He fails to realize this and usually only brings it up when political issues are talked about.

I remember listening to these shows as they were happening in real time, and even 14 or 15 years ago, I prayed for Opie to be out every morning. He contributed nothing to the show, he barely ever laughed at anything anyone said, and if they ever went after him in the slightest, he got all in his feelings. The days Anthony wasn’t there, was a day that I skipped, all the time, no matter who the guest was. I can’t even go back and listen to those shows. I have accidentally stumbled upon some of them and I found myself saying “It’s been five minutes, and Anthony hasn’t said anything…oh, no.” Not to mention that Opie was also a rat. There is a specific show where he does a roll call with Patrice, because he knows Anthony is late, and totally throws him under the bus for no fucking reason whatsoever, just so management would know and maybe punish him. The restraint Anthony had was mind blowing. I recently went back and listened to the Opie and Jim show, where they had their fight with Esther Ku in the studio, and it sounded exactly like this. Opie is a narcissist. He didn’t know his place on the show. He should have been the dude that shut up, let the guys talk and only pipe in when they were supposed to go to break, then, take them back from break, and shut up again, but, he had to get in his “EXACTLY” or “GIVE YOURSELF A BELL” nonsense, because if he didn’t speak up once in a while, he felt like he was going to die. Opie was an anchor when it came to a fun time. Him constantly saying he became a stranger on “his“ show, when Anthony carried it on his back for 10 years, is the most insulting thing of all. We all saw what happened when he tried to do the show that he wanted to do all along, after Cumia got fired, and he found out very quick that Sherrod Small was not Patrice, Vic Henley was not Louis CK and and a already checked out Jimmy Norton was not Anthony. I know this comment is already too long, but I’ve literally been listening to this radio show for all 20 years of its existence, and then the 10 years after it was over, with all of the drama, Anthony’s Compound show, and the 10 failed Opie podcasts, it’s sad to see that they pretty much hated each other for the entire duration of the show, and how dumb I was to not sniff out the clues that they pretty much never got along. I wish things had ended differently, but I’m sure something else would have happened, not long after that, with all the resentment they had for each other.
