Just subscribed, I have a 2017 Dodge Challenger SXT Plus, my model didnt come with factory Super Track Pack or Drive modes options but does have a 8.4 Uconnect system. Will the Tazer turn on the performance pages on the EVIC and 8.4 Uconnect screen?

One of my favorite features is the light show (headlights and fogs disabled) It screams "look at me" when at car shows ;). Can't wait to reset the adaptives and use the shift light at my next visit to the drag strip.

Have you tried to make a "Custom" Light Show yet?? I now have all the settings where I want them and I did notice that when I have the SRT settings enabled that I lose the SCAT Bee and only have the choice of "Challenger or Hellcat" the Bee is gone with the SRT settings enabled. Oh well!! It's only on for 2-3 seconds anyway and I like the SRT settings enabled. The default Light Shows are cool, for sure, but I want to make up a couple of my own. I assume that when making my own "Custom" Light Shows, and want to test them, I bring my laptop into the car with me, connect the Tazer to the laptop and have the car in the "RUN" position but NOT running...is that correct?? I can't seem to find anyone else anywhere that have made up their own Custom Light Shows??? What do you think??

Not yet on the custom light show, soon though. If I remember correctly you can access the light show options with the car off and laptop connected. If you make any good ones don't forget to share them. I just turned on SRT mode on Wednesday for the first time. Correct the Bee will go away because the SRT more completely changes the display design and fonts, I was a bit sad but the changes were totally worth losing the bee.

Well, I had a useless hour spent trying to do a Custom Light Show. I got NOTHING!! The only thing I did get was some strange crap. Can you tell me if you noticed when you're cycling through the Tazer options if you saw (NO DEVICE) flash for a second in between any of the options at all?? I don't remember this happening to me when I 1st installed the Tazer, but maybe I missed it?? I doubt it but that's why I'm asking you?? Lol.. Secondly, once the Tazer is loaded, it's loaded, correct?? Well, I had to re-load it twice today. It was empty, NO 2.2.7 or anything for that matter. And 3rd, does the RED light go out eventually, when it's connected to the laptop?? It starts off with a quick flashing Red/Green combo, then a slow Red flash and every 4th flash, there's a 5 second break, then it starts again with 4 Red flashes, then a break. Finally, the 3rd and last time I tried to re-load 2.2.7 I get a pop-up window stating that there is NO DEVICE PRESENT and it suggests that I look for the Device in COM3 drop box, but when I hit the drop arrow, it's empty of course. I'm NO computer whiz by any stretch of the imagination...but I think I have a (TECHNICAL MALFUNCTION) going on here?? Yet when the Tazer is mated to the car, all the options function as they should, but for the Custom Light Show, obviously, since I can't get in there to do anything. And btw, if you want to activate the A Light Show while the vehicle is in motion, Connect the Tazer to the Laptop then, go to the CONFIGURE PAGE, then LIGHT SHOW PAGE and click (CTRL + SHIFT + L) all at the same time and Check the Box on the Lower Left Side, another window will appear and click OK and you're off to the races...lol...Ok, any help or info would be appreciated sir!! I did email Joe about the Custom Light Show issue but that was before these other issues popped up and he's hiking in Colorado and will be back on Monday. I don't anticipate any grief from Joe at all with my Tazer either, I've found him to be a very pleasant and friendly guy, that has Customer Service as his First Priority, but I'll keep you posted. Also, before I forget, when I did email him the first time, it was about making up a Custom Light Show and I wasn't sure what state the car should be in when I'm making up the Custom Light Show, this was before I knew that you had replied to my question, so just so you know, in his reply, he stated that it doesn't matter whether or not the car is on or off or in run, just plug the Tazer into the car and the USB to the Tazer, then the Laptop and away you go!! So, there you have it. Please let me know when you can if you have any suggestions, thoughts or ideas what's going on with my Tazer. Oh ya, just in case I got stuck, I did put all my settings back to the OEM parameters as well. You never know, right?? If something bad happened, how would I explain that nightmare to the Stealership?? Thanks!!

This is a long one sorry took so long to respond. NO DEVICE - I have not had this issue at all since receiving my TaZer. I have not had any issues with the device being discovered, from what I've seen online one option is to close the ZPU and connect to another USB port wait about 30 seconds then try again. I'm not sure about the red green flashing, I didn't really pay attention when updating. I'm a little confused if you were able to install the firmware or you were never able to connect the TaZer to your PC??? 1. Disconnect the TaZer 2. Make sure you have the latest ZPU installed which is 1.4.8, uninstall the ZPU and grab the 1.4.8 from here and install www.zautotech.com/docs/ZPU.Setup148.msi 3. You might need to install the drivers you can grab them from here > www.zautotech.com/docs/CDM%20v2.12.00%20WHQL%20Certified.exe 4. finally download a fresh copy of the firmware 2.2.7 - 110216 you can use this video to see the issues I had while installing the driver. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGXdgnuZo81kntU Let me know if you can get connected, Joe is a good dude and should get you sorted out quickly if you do have an issue. My only concern is that "No Device" message you saw.

Yes, you can enable some of the features as long as the car supports it, but the live functions will not work without the TaZer connected. This also creates the issue where the person you enable it for will now need to rely on you to disable it before they go in for dealer service. Lastly it's kind of cheating the system using a product designed to be purchased for 1 car on multiple vehicles.

I would recommend putting your settings back to normal and removing the TaZer before servicing. If you are going in for troubleshooting you should always provide the techs with what they are used to, added settings, changes and an additional device will result in extra time while they try to understand the the cause of your issue. To answer you question here is a quote from their FAQ www.zautotech.com/docs/Tazer%20FAQs.pdf Q: Will this void my warranty? A: Per the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act (1975), a manufacturer can only deny a warranty claim when an aftermarket component is used if they can prove that the component caused the failure. Simply write down the settings that you used the Tazer to change, and change them back to their original values before service - it’ll be as if it was never used. As for “live” features such as light shows, line lock, full ESP disable, nav in motion, force video - use of those features can’t be detected.

I have a 15 Challenger Scat auto. Got t he TaZer after seeing your videos. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to delete my HIDs from light shows. Have you considered showing us how to program custom light shows and delete those HIDs? Just a thought for us dummies!

I believe they were having an issue with some (not all) 2017's have you reached out to their support? zautomotive.com/about-us/contact-us/ They will be able to provide some more info on the issue and their planned release of a fix.

There are 2 lists of functions in the TaZer manual, The live functions require the tazer to be be plugged in like Line lock, lightshow etc.

When connected to the PC does the ZPU allow you to configure? I had an issue with one of my PC USB ports and had to unplug the Tazer, reboot and connect it to a different USB port.

Sadly my Computer does not find the Tazer. Using Windows 10, i also tried to install the USB Driver with sucess. But its still not found from the ZPU Software....

Problem solved. The USB-Cable which was sent to me with the Tazer is broken, replaced it and its working now.

I have an Apple and no access to a PC (and not a computer wiz mb y any stretch.). Z Auto is unwilling to help me, I would love to send my Tazer to someone like you, I'd give you $50 to upgrade to 2.4.x My Tazer was purchased in January 2017. I just need help and willing to pay. Thank you!

Zautomotive has a Mac client that you can use for updates. It’s very easy to do.
