It's so nice to find recent info supported with charts for something as complicated as this. Every time I look into Zaws I get older posts with conflicting info and it makes it really hard to know what to do. I wanted the best combinations for mastery and to know which to keep after and I got exactly that.

When looking at rapiers, you seem to be forgetting (in both videos) that the first strike in the most basic rapier combo is forced slash. It's a big part of the reason I like the weapon type in the first place.

The best is speed, the faster you attack, the faster you get combo counter and faster you apply status to deal more damage by condition overload buff + it feels nice to have fast animations.

I believe the sepfahn nikana can do well with status once you consider grouping up enemies and exodia force: With +180% status chance you basically have a 60% chance to deal 200% of your weapon damage around you in a radius around yourself as well causing procs with a 120% chance, achieving a much higher potential damage output than what you could obtain with the tiny range Blind Justice, the best nikana stance for DPS, has. As you said, it's an uphill battle but you can still end up with a stronger zaw. I have both a max crit and max status nikana, the max crit being built for contagion.

I'm curious about the staff zaws. Is tipedo prime the best non-zaw staff overall? Why is it being compared? And is it really worth building a zaw staff with that in mind? I use the broken sceptre at the moment and it works well enough I think, far better than base tipedo ever did, but I've never used tipedo prime.

A bit late to the party here but can you explain where MR comes from on zaws and maybe kit guns?

Zaws from the strikes, and Kitguns from the chambers. You can only get the MR once, regardless of rebuilds (eg only once from Catchmoon, regardless primary or secondary). To do so, you must master the weapon, gild it, then master it again. That second round gives the MR.

It’s the Exodia Contagion Arcane that is able to be put on only zaws. I think the only way you can get it is through the Plague Star event or trading so you might have to wait until then.

Good video... it would help to not use the word "DPS" that way... as status is confounded with dps... more status is more viral/slash/heat procs which are definitely more DPS... so opting for all crit low status is not wise in general

They're outclassed. Despite the plague name, they confer no additional benefits beyond ordinary stat modifiers, and those modifiers are not great.

I have one dagger zaw built for pure status specifically for contagion and amalgam argonak for super fast armor stripping. Although I haven’t used it in forever. So I’m not sure if it’s still good.

If you haven't already, check out the heavy attack guide recently released on this channel. I talk about zaws as part of it. The big one to look at is the Dokrahm which can bypass status chance to only need to focus on the higher damage setup.

Question: If I were to build a Stat stick for Khora out of Plague Keewar or Plague Kripath (considering the specific mods only for such stat stick), what should I go for? I have these parts laying around since a 2 yrs ago plague event...Mainly, I am confused about your DPS/Status numbers and what the links add to any mixes. Are your DPS total calculations include Status damage or not at all? I already have a much older Plague Kripath polearm with a condition overload build that works fine on regular missions, but doesn't do enough damage for Steel Path since Condition Overload/Bloodrush/Berserker reworks. I want to get rid of it to gain a slot & rebuild from the ground-up

Once you've built the parts, go to Hok in Cetus. He assembles the parts you choose into your weapon. Return to him once you level the weapon to 30 to gild it, giving it its final stats and applying a forma for free.

I'm a fairly new player started playing after the "melee nerf update" Personally I don't find condition overload being as overpowered than what people used to talk about it. Is it still worth it. Although that could be just me as I haven't goten into too high level content yet. started steel path 4 days ago

How do these zaws compare to the kronen prime?

I've not done an empirical comparison on them, but eyeballing the stats I'd say the scythe, nikana, polearm, and staff zaws should be pretty competitive (more so with appropriate arcanes). Heavy blade and sword would struggle to gain much ground from the original melee comparison video. Rapier, hammer, machete and dagger would almost certainly be behind. Your mileage may vary, and this is primarily focused on grineer as basically everything else dies to any decently modded high-crit melee.

Best is the highest base dmg or even better a weapon with high riven deposition like thebä jaw sword also because of the syndicate mod. I have a descent sepfahn riven so i take that one. And if u dont gonna run endurance for hours just anything properly moded melts enemies anyways.
