I can understand that answer actually. I don't think he was "leading them on" or something. People can think they are in love. Or BE in love. But once the relationship ends, you think of it differently. You start thinking: "Well, if it WAS real love, it wouldn't have ended so badly" or you can realize it was just infatuation in retrospect. Especially when you can compare it to more pure, less dramatic, unconditional kind of love, such as love you have for your child. I think he was just reflecting about love in general. @@jgp1294 Nope I would disagree, I don't think he was trying to save face because in the same interview he talks fondly about how Khai gets her musical talent from Gigi, if you watch the whole interview you will see he wasn't bitter at all. He displays self awareness and a lot of growth. He says that after his daughter he realised he has a lot of love in him that he didn't know he had before. They just go on to discuss what love and being 'in love' means and that's what he responds to that he doesn't understand what being in love exactly is, so maybe he hasn't been in love yet. So that's a very real response from him. Also, Gigi is the one who still likes his posts and tags him so I don't see why he would be bitter.

Having watched his evolution over the past few years, it is clear that he has done a lot of healing and is really thriving now, since the breakup. There's no reason for him to 'save face'. It was a stressful situation for both of them when they were together, but now they're amicably coparenting, and he is happier & more confident than I've ever seen him.

Zayn clearly found Perrie attractive and ‘thought’ he loved her because he was engaged to her at one point. he loved her but he wasn’t ‘in love’ with her. he then met Gigi and they were both attracted to eachother but as the months/years went on I think he fell in love with her they kept on splitting up but they stayed friends and they got back together and then they decided to have a child together. I think Zayn fell in love with Gigi slowly but he fell hard for her that’s why he struggled so much emotionally when they broke up for the last and final time. Khai really is a blessing for both Gigi and Zayn, they are both amazing parents together or apart. I think Zayn is still in love with Gigi and he probably always will be, but he’s not going to admit that.
