For those who are saying urdu is different from hindi So I have to tell you that hindi originated from sanskrit 12 centuries ago and urdu is originated in lucknow 7 centuries ago Actually Urdu is a Hindi language with interchanged Sanskrit words into Arabic-Persian words. For example: Hindi : [Prem] karna koi [Paap] nahi hai. Urdu: [Muhabbat] karna koi [Gunah] nahi hai. You can see differences in Hindi and Urdu. Only [Prem] and [Paap] removed and [Muhabbat] and [Gunah] inserted and it became Urdu. Muhabbat and Gunah are Arabic words And pyaar is a modern hindi word so technically he spoke hindi but by ethics and his family background you can say that it is urdu But as he actually spoked hindi unintentionally, he wrote hindi/urdu in the title So I think this is sorted

For all the people fighting if he is speaking urdu or hindi, Zayn's father is a Pakistani so obviously he spoke urdu with his zayn (reason why later in the video zayn said that he can say i love u in urdu but not in arabic) Secondly, urdu and hindi share same origin. Thousands of years ago people from middle east, persia, germany and france used to come to subcontinent for trading they used to speak different languages their languages transformed and changed dialects and through various changes urdu/hindi came into existence. The main difference between urdu and Hindi is that urdu has more persian words while hindi has Sanskrit words, why? Because the language had many forms and dialects so mostly people who are part of pakistan spoke urdu form while others spoke hindi, deccani, urdu e mualla etc
