Hearing Bruce’s voice in the 90s really proves how fucking harsh the tours were in the 80s. Ironically, the manager would give Bruce shit for saying he was tried yet the second he left maiden and had a semi sane routine, he sound pitch perfect again, like he did in the early maiden days.

Bruce was also to blame, he tried to sing above his confortable zone all the time, Martin forbid him from trying to sound like Gillian becuase he knew bruce would abuse his voice on tour, and he did, but during the beast and the piece of mine tour. Bruce range peaked in the 80s, but he learned how to control his voice in the late 90s.

I think taking a long break from Maiden helped his voice . He didn't have to tour heavy with his solo stuff . He sounded the best ever live with Skunkworks , and the 2 tours with this lineup here .

I was lucky enough to attend this gig with 19 or 20 years. Front row... it was beyond crazy when the band started playing "Two Minutes...". Looking back, it's pretty amazing to have witnessed playing this band introducing such an awesome album.

I’d say the ‘half-Tribe-of-Gypsies-band’ really excell on these more mellow sections. There’s a similar effect in the mid-tempo middle section of 2 minutes. It’s not that they are not faithfull to the original, but they seem to make the atmosphere and phrasing more their own.

The secret of the success of Iron Maiden= Bruce & Adrian, when Smith lefted the Band the Maidens had no more quality with Gers on guitar.... From Killers to SEVENTH SON was all so epic and strong. Yes, we had big Songs Like Fear of the Dark but no one can compare Adrian Smith with Janick Gers on the guitar..... My opinion.

I just got to the part where they played tattooed millionaire but still wanted to add my two cents. Well here it goes as fantastic as a guitar player Roy Z is I would love to see him produce a iron maiden album. Adrian Will always be my favorite guitar player but I would love to see how a new Iron Maiden album in 2018 would sound if Roy-z was the producer. I bet Steve and Roy-z could work together on this as great's like Martin Birch are just not available anymore

I agree...Maiden needs a change on the producer's chair, for a long time ago. I think that Book of Souls album sounds weak, I miss a fatter sound, a heavy guitar sound. I'd like to see Steve + Roy Z working together but I think it's difficult. Adrian will be great as a producer or co-producer, just take a look to the Psychomotel album and PRRebellion...the sounds is awesome...cheers!

Mauricio Cisternas, yo estuve ahi y Bruce con Road to Hell dejo la cagada, de hecho Bruce estaba tremenda y gratamente sorprendido con la respuesta de la audiencia. Cuando hace el "scream for me" sono atronador. La gente del canal R&P siempre en las transmisiones en vivo disminuía el volumen de la audiencia para que las canciones se escucharan mejor, pero el publico quedamos loco con todo el show de Bruce. Fue memorable incluso para el, y desde ahi su amor para con el publico chileno que fue muy respetuoso a diferencia del publico de 1995 en el teatro monumental en donde fue mas eufórico pero tambien mas irrespetuoso (epoca en donde algunos tarados escupian a los artistas).

The good thing here is that for a maiden cover, you get Bruce and Adrian together with the amazing RoyZ... super combo. The drummer and bass player are also doing a good job. But the guitar harmonies are spotless, and the solos on powerslave are not maiden while being so maiden its perfect.

"Covers" in the strict sense of the word, but those Maiden songs were written by Dickinson or Dickinson/Smith. How can you cover a song you wrote yourself ;) Check out the Vosselaar 1998 show, Adrian is "covering" Dave's Powerslave solo there.

Good grief Powerslave is absolutely relentless , dare I say a better version than maiden could have conjured up at the time and for a while before hand . Drumming on run to the hills is very Clive Burr , doesn’t sound like Nicko’s version which is pretty cool as well . Also Adrian on Tears of a dragon is great . Cool to hear his take on tattooed millionaire as well when Jannick was in maiden playing some of his solos at the same time

I still love Maiden as much as I ever have, but to me, Bruce’s solo works from Accident of Birth sound more ‘Maiden’ than Maiden have done since Brave New World. Give me a Bruce solo album over a modern Maiden album any day (that’s a testament to Bruce and Roy Z by the way, I am not knocking the mighty Irons)

@@DurbanNiks101 I’m not trying to shit on Maiden for evolving, brother. My point is, that Bruce is a huge cog on the wheel of this mighty set of musicians. Direction and progression has always been at the forefront with him being in the band, both after Di’Anno and after Blaze. The Blaze era was Maiden treading water and surfing, not setting the world on fire (Wolfsbane were always one of my favourite bands by the way, no disrespect to Blaze here). My point remains; my comment was meant as a compliment to Bruce and not me throwing shit at Maiden. I love Senjutsu btw, I just thought that Bruce’s work with Adrian and Roy Z was out of this world cool, to close out the final chapter of classic Maiden. Far more than Virtual XI anyway, which I will die on my sword on: as a terrible album, even from a band of amateurs down the road from my house in a local pub.

So glad Bruce and H rejoined Maiden because they were shite without them, massive kudos the the other guys in this band ,the were superb and absolutely nailed the Iron Maiden songs !
