No wonder Levon left Dylan's tour when they were getting booed. This is what Levon wanted--a bouncing, dancing, good-time crowd who appreciated the music. He looks sooooooo happy here. And this is a great lineup--that kid on the other drum kit is terrific. (This makes Clapton's version sound like he recorded it in his sleep.)

“Hand Jive” was originally released in 1958. I was in junior high in Louisville and everybody loved it. His only competition on the radio back then, imho, was Bo Diddley. Was this concert in the late 50s or during the 60s when his son Shuggie started performing with his dad at age 11. Shuggie was a musical prodigy who jammed with Frank Zappa, playing several instruments, and he passed his splendid genes on to his 2 sons, who also became professional musicians with their own bands.

Mel J , all of the non-sellout members of The Band are present. This is from early 80’s so even Richard Manuel is there.

This is one of Levon's post Robbie Robertson The Band. "Jericho" was a very good album. When they lost Richard Manuel, the heart went out of them.
