No wonder Levon left Dylan's tour when they were getting booed. This is what Levon wanted--a bouncing, dancing, good-time crowd who appreciated the music. He looks sooooooo happy here. “Hand Jive” was originally released in 1958. I was in junior high in Louisville and everybody loved it. His only competition on the radio back then, imho, was Bo Diddley. Was this concert in the late 50s or during the 60s when his son Shuggie started performing with his dad at age 11. Shuggie was a musical prodigy who jammed with Frank Zappa, playing several instruments, and he passed his splendid genes on to his 2 sons, who also became professional musicians with their own bands.
