Thanks for the tutorial, got me back in the program! I did some things different but I still learned a lot. (I also added some bullets :D )

I never knew how to 'snap' verts in ZBrush (align them on the same plane). I loved how you just masked out all other verts, then used 'scale' to bring them all together!
@Michal.P.P.4 жыл бұрын
You can also use clip curve in ortographic view to snap all unmasked verts
@JCGCompositions4 жыл бұрын
@@Michal.P.P. Thanks! I just got into ZBrush last year. (3D sculpting's my new hobby.) Funny, how I can grasp the larger concepts pretty quickly, yet still get hung up on something so basic! To be honest, it took me a while to figure out how to 'snap' in Blender. I was making the mistake of using the Gizmo to move instead of hitting 'G' then locking in an axis so I could move my cursor off to one side to cover the vert I wanted to snap to!

Ey man great tutorial! Thank you for your time I really appreciate it. One question tho, I've been using ZBrush for years and still can't figure out how you selected those points at 1:25 ...mind explaining? Thanks man, have a good one
@chrisz93453 жыл бұрын
I just activated the radical symmetry and use Zmodeler to mask the points radically, then ctrl + L click canvas to reverse the masked area.

i agree with the comments below BUT as we all express it is so useful that we are grateful this is shared and better than not shared. esp most people seeing this are lvl 1 newbies like me. thanks so much for this video :)

great video!. But i have a question. how did you turn on the manipulation thing? at 1:28? needed explanation there..
@chrisz93454 жыл бұрын
I masked the points with the radial symmetry turned on. Turn on the symmetry mode by hitting X, then you can go to transform menu and click R under activate symmetry. Depending on the direction you are working on and the amount of faces you are dealing with, play around with the XYZ and radialCount .

Great video tutorial; however, not for the beginner. You went to fast and skipped a lot of info unknowingly. I have been with ZBrush for 3 and a half years and got hung up steps. I was able to complete the entire course. I would like to see more great videos like this. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

how easy is it to make it ready for animation ? split it all up etc., say for animating in cinema 4d
@captainfantastic34903 жыл бұрын
nobody cares about revolver and it has a simple animation. It just rotate, so you just need to lower the polygon count with decimation master or whatever, Automatic UV in Maya, putting it into Substance Painter and texuring it and in the end, give it to the level designer for the simple rotation animation!!!

I appreciate what you are doing, but if anyone was keeping up with you, they would have to have the same level of skill as you do. A bit of a breakdown would help the slower kids in class.

Got some useful info for sure, but like Ronaldo said I was often going back to figure out what you did, as your words were skipping tasks that your hands were making, if that makes sense. Again very helpful overall, but I probably spent 2 hours on a twenty minute video due to all the time I spent looking for things that weren't explained.
@chrisz93454 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for your feedback, sorry for the inconvenience and will definitely work on more zbrush videos with better explanation in the future, and I'm glad to hear you still got some useful stuff from it:)

When I click make polymesh3D but my model did not change color, how can I fix this?
@chrisz93453 жыл бұрын
Shift+f to switch on/off polygroup.
@sqwert6542 жыл бұрын
Made this in fusion360 in about 15 minutes, including the missing notches on the side. Then imported as a high poly obj. The problem with HS modelling in ZB is its not possible to be precise.

ok so you have to get a rect mask -draw over two points - reverse the mask. switch over to move mode and move the model... - not bad considering i never built anything with z-brush before - on with the tuts - hope to get to the end
