I know its finished, but it seems your (and our) heart is still in BATE. I'm sure we'd all like a comeback and a second Champions League. Edit: Ok Zealand has given an answer which I 100% agree with. These are his exact words: While it may look exciting, it's an exceedingly boring save now. I could play my U19's and win the league by 10 points. Leaving only like 8 matches a year that are worth watching at all. I keep it around mainly to make videos of it. I agree and sorry to the people that don't. It's great for KZbin but a boring livestream.

This researching stuff is really fascinating. Actually, ANY instruction may make your game plan better/worse. For example, I tried playing with "pass into space" always turned on because "Zealand told me that" and "The game thinks it is a part of wide play" (and I'm playing wide, that's all I can do with my current squad). And it _does not work_! My competition level is very low, so guys just don't know how to capitalise on a full-back with a winger shuffling between the corner flag and the penalty box (but there is plenty of "space" here, isn't it?). Taking it off and turning off overlaps - resulted in my wingers actually searching for a pass in the penalty area. Another thing for low division squads is "play for set pieces". Your typical low-league centre back usually has nothing better, than tackling+jumping reach. No passing, no quickness. Slow posessional play tortures them, resulting in 60% passes completion once slightest pressure is on them. But once you get a corner - it turns completely different. Now this aerial complex is a goalscoring machine. I feel, there is such a surprise in almost every instruction.

This helps me get out of the "groping in the dark" stage. I never did match analysis. Didn't know what to do with the data nor where to find it. Instead I did real time managing, changing instructions according to what I see is currently happening in the match. As much as it can feel good to win 4-0 with flat xg against a stronger team it doesn't feel right if I can't read and explain why it happened.

I use the 2D mode always. I started when it was Championship Manager and no motor engine available at the time as we all know. Anyway, i find it much better to analyse in 2D game view because it give us the perfect view to know what you have to change. It's easier i believe. You notice what you have to do right away and you can see the AI changes in the game aswell. The thing is that you have to know what you have to change obviously. Sometimes the pressure line, the defence line, the tempo, small changes that make the all difference. Always play in attacking mentality, 4-2-3-1 and had excellent results. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, it's the easiest way to learn for sure.

Rosco Dodger In most tactics the build up play to score will begin in the deep midfield, if you throw all your players forward there is barely anyone left to get the ball to those players and your midfield will be overrun by theirs, and you’ll likely concede if the teams are fairly evenly matched (90% of top division games).
@MrNeilo9114 жыл бұрын

If I really want to see how my tactic is functioning, I'll put it on full match and up the match speed(I mean I usually have it on higher speed anyway, the default setting is just a bit slow for me). You don't have to watch the entire match like that, I sure don't save for a few occasions, but a good 15-20 minute piece of it can tell a good story of the trends of a match. With the faster speed, you're not spending 20 real life minutes watching it. I think a lot of people see "full match" and think you need to cut out 90 minutes of your life for one game, which isn't necessary. Do it for bits of matches, do it on high speed, etc.

Zealand could you do a goalkeeper video? Managing morale Phasing out ageing keepers/ blooding young prospects Signing goalkeepers, especially in a backup role I tend to just keep the same keeper for 10 years until and academy kid can take his place and i never am able to hold on to a decent backup option
@haalangcovers4 жыл бұрын
What I tend to do (in FM19), is to have one solid and older first keeper that I own, one decent loanee and one promising young talent that I own in my first team. If the talent is close to being ready to play first team football, he'll be the backup and play some less important matches and cup games. After a while I might give him some league matches in a row if the older guy isn't playing his best. If he shows enough promise and plays well enough, he'll become the first keeper, and I'll sell the older guy and start the cycle again probably. The loanee is there for a limited time, so it's less likely that lack of playing time is gonna become a problem affecting morale (both because of the limited time he's there, and the lack of influence over and connections to other players). He'll be there primarily as a means to keep the team happy about squad depth, and as a safety covering as a backup/rotation player for the first keeper until your young talent is ready to do that job. If the young talent isn't at ready for first team football yet, the loanee will play those matches, and I'll either play the young talent in the youth squad or loan him out if he is over 18. If he doesn't become good enough after some time, you just gotta sell and try again with the next talent.

The stats for «clear cut chances» and «half chances» in FM are just ridiculous and should not be taken seriously. For some strange reason only a certain type of shot will be accepted as a «clear cut chance» in FM, meaning that you can create massive chances through out the game while having zero chances according to the game. Examples of great goal scoring chances that are not «clear cut» according to FM are as follows: Any shot hitting the crossbar. Free headers from two yards that go over (because it is not registered as a shot on goal). Any shot that doesnt hit the target inside the box. Dangerous shots on goal inside a cramped box (because it is not registered as a one on one with the keeper). It is basically as easy as this: «One on ones» are clear cut chances, other shots are not. If you play against teams with a high line that give you space behind their defence, you will create «one on ones» and therefore «clear cut chances». If you play against teams that defend deep and have plenty of players inside their own box, you will not create «one on ones» and your stats for clear cut chances might remain at zero even though you create plenty of dangerous finishes inside the box. The way FM counts chances is just ridiculous and should not really be valued by any serious player. You need to trust your own eyes. If your striker just shot wide of the goal from three yards, it is obviously a great chance even though it was not a shot on goal and not a one on one...

No offence, but I find this video to be a bit lazy. You're using a super team and you're playing against a much weaker opposition and I feel like there is not much to learn. I would have love to see a match where you would be the weaker side, or at least even with the opposing team, and after the first half you would analyse your team and your opposing team's weaknesses and see you react to that. The heat map analysis is the best part of the video and something I'll try to implement, it's just a shame there aren't other elements like changing the formation for a specific opponent(that's something i was really looking forward to). Oh well.
