Please don't suggest dumping it in your yard especially in the south east, we are having flooding issues, which will almost certainly introduce these to the natural ecosystem.

I just read about article about a few minutes ago. Wyoming was banning marimo balls and another state has to. They have this problem in Michigan which is probably one of the many reasons why Michigan have a water crisis

Imported from where? Was this a PETCO/PetSmart supplier?
@kata46593 жыл бұрын
I heard that their suppliers were affected, and the moss balls were from Europe. That's where zebra mussels are from.

I bought one and it had a zebra muscle on it. I’m scared they might have gotten on my other plants. All of the plants and the moss ball are in the packaging so do y’all think it’s possible that the muscles got on my other in packaged plants?
@kata46593 жыл бұрын
I think you should reach out to the store that sold them to you and ask them about it. They would know.

Since they are mussels can bichirs eat them safely?
@humanbean3923 жыл бұрын
Yes but make sure your polys aren't too small,a inch senegalus could choke on a large zebra mussel but a 12" endlicheri will have no problem.

Thanks for info. I will start checking moss balls before I buy.

The mussels can be small enough that you would not be able to detect them just by looking.

What if you kept them in a tank and only fed them blue green algae. Maybe you can make a species that only eats that type
