I strongly believe there's an issue with Riot's matchmaking system, as in almost 80% of matches, you're paired with unskilled players in high elo🤔 They end up being a liability, no matter how well you play or how many kills you get. Sometimes, I'd honestly prefer bots over players who are just free kills for the enemy team. It's like Riot is saying, 'Oh, you're a good player trying to win? Ok here, take four zero-skill players: two of them are aimlessly roaming, doing nothing but soul-searching🤦🏻‍♂️, one can't land a simple skill shot, and the last one is actively seeking out enemies to give them free kills, gd luck😘

So I have to ask...is the level of importance Zwag places on denying his enemy a single cannon a legitimate thing that rational people value? I always kind of assume it's not....

sometimes it's cope ("I died but they missed cannon, worth" lol), but a cannon is a good chunk of money so denying it should always be the goal if possible

It's one of those "If you can do it without dying, you probably should" kind of things. League, like any well-designed game, is balanced around snowballing; denying a cannon might be the difference between them basing with a lost chapter, or just a book and some boots, and if they just get the book and boots, you can bully them even easier when they return, making them EVEN SLOWER to get items, and so on. That denied cannon can be just the edge you need in a high-level game. Of course, if you screw up and give them a kill, you put yourself even further behind than if you just let them get the cannon. It's delicate. At least League doesn't have Dota's obnoxious creep denying mechanic - I get why it's there (to encourage direct player conflict rather than passive farm lanes) but it's extremely frustrating to deal with.
