But if our needs are not met, this doesn't mean that we have to convert ourselves into a sadist. Why not take joy in helping other people to meet their needs?

You don't choose to be a sadist or a loving caring person. You automatically become one depending on whether your needs are met or not. Our body is a machine and this is how it's programmed.

What the hell does History have to do with the Bio-Psycho-Social Nature of human health and human nature? What does politics have to do with Neuroscience and Neurochemistry in drug rehabilitations?

He is Hungarian... that being said he has committed himself to being a drug clinical psychiatrist, so by definition is job is stressful as fuck considering they deal with suicide patients quite regularly.

Genocide, extortion and greed are all dependent upon factors involving scarcity, fear, propaganda, etc... these are not fundamental factors of human nature.

Supposedly competition is what breeds a greater being, and such is the doctrine our leaders are brought up to believe. Through this, the systems required to get every country out of debt may function better.

"Right, well, that is what they all say, if only conditions were like this, if only we did this instead of this, if only people were more like this instead of like this, then everything would be so much better." Except that isn't what its about, it's about environment conditioning both biologically and socially that determine much of our behavior whether unconscious or not and what are the better conditions that foster healthy human relationships. Very different than your description.

That's your response? History? History doesn't say anything about human nature at all... try again.
