Hi it's me binge watching your Zelda videos! Just wanted to pause halfway through and throw in a different perspective. As someone who hadn't played Windwaker before TotK the music still absolutely just smacked me in the chest. It's an incredible piece that evokes the same raw emotion whether you have the association or not. However, something more interesting happened, I only very recently got to go back, courtesy of borrowing my friends wii u and start playing Windwaker as an adult. Not only did I still get that giddy happiness from the environment, but when I tell you. I got to Dragon roost island for the first time and I cried. The music kicking up with the beautiful colors and immaculate vibes? Indescribable. I knew what everyone was talking about, but now I'd experienced it backwards. Instead of my childhood nostalgia driving me forward in the newest game. My connection through the newest game allowed me to reconnect to a childlike joy I haven't felt in years. Going back and playing the Zelda games I never got to (BotW was my first because I went out of my way to buy a switch and the game myself) is an extremely special experience, and a very personal one. I can't imagine how I'll feel visiting the Rito or fighting Colgera again after this. But if my reaction to you just playing the music in this video is anything to go by, I should have the tissues ready. 💕

I like the 5th and 8th hair styles for Zelda but the one they chose makes sense and works really well too. You know one of my few complaints with TotK is that I wanted the depths and sky islands to have so much more to explore and in reality, we really didn’t get that much. The depths was mostly all barren and the sky islands were so few and mostly puzzle based that it was saddening. I was hoping for under hyrule castle for it to be an almost Wind Waker type deal where it was the first castle, or a maze made to keep out anyone not meant to be there and so much more. That being said it is still insanely fun, and was a vast improvement upon BotW, I’m hoping we get a new styled Zelda game next. Or a nice crispy remaster of something beloved. Oh and I’m hoping there’s lots of lore that’s answered in this book.
