This was the first video I ever seen from Jeremy, and later on I'd stumble upon his "Something About" series, not knowing I've ever watched his videos before. It's quite mind blowing to think about. For those who don’t know, there’s a stable at the East foot of Death Mountain, close to the Akala Citadel where a lady sells a buncha fireproof elixirs. Word of advice for non-veterans, go there at all costs before you scale the mountain, unless you wanna try and live through this. Oh, and bring at least 3,000 rupees to Goron City.

People get confused at how the flamebreaker armor can protect Link from volcanic environments but not the heat of the dessert. I think it's fairly obvious: in real life, volcanologists wear special hazmat-like clothing called proximity suits that make it safer to approach lava flows and are also used by firefighters. They deflect heat, but aren't very breathable. You wouldn't want to wear one in the middle of a hot wasteland.

@@llopl28 Maybe, the Flamebreaker only activates when it's near within the parameters. Heat-resistant clothing only activates at certain temperature as well. So... if you wear the Flamebreaker at a desert, the armor will not activate since it's not within the parameters. The flamebreaker is inactive if it's not too hot. So if you wear it in a desert, if it's not too hot like the lava, the armor will not activate.

There's a difference between deflecting heat and insulating you from external heat like a fire suit or the flamebreak armor, and absorbing your sweat and allowing you to cool off faster while also remaining breathable and allowing airflow to cool your body naturally like the stuff you would wear in a desert

It's definitely weird that it doesn't seem to have any magic making it work in the way that the Rito and Voe armours make use of gems. Realistically, the Flamebreaker set is the one that needs the magic the most, because it needs to keep you from _bursting into flames,_ and not just regulate body temperature.

Realistically putting on the Flamebreaker Suit would only protect you for so long, and eventually you would suffer from sweltering (like in the desert)

there's also a guy outside the mountain who will give you a quest that gives you one piece of the armor when completed and only one piece is needed to prevent bursting into flame due to the air. for them it's hard to talk to them since some are in areas with lots of guardians and makes it really hard. for me I go to every shrine first, then get heart containers so I can stand on fire for more time also they don't know how to make fire proof food (I don't know how to make fire resistant food either so I go first to all snow shrines) but NCPs are rare to find on common places. for me I like to talk to everyone so I can see all story

Most people come from the east anyways, as it's the path of natural progression. Those who try to gun it to the city by eating themselves from the brink are usually coming from that tower at the southern end of death mountain. I know because I was that guy. And i died, and thankfully i found out midway on my next trip that I needed fireproof elixirs to withstand the heat

I had one fire elixir for 3 minutes, fast traveled to death mountain’s map tower, drank it, and booked it all the way to where I thought the place’s city looked like on the map. I got to Goron City on my first try and got armor with 11 seconds left on the elixir.
