some questions: 1) Why did you wait so much before getting the shield spell? 2) How do you make the save screen appear? (I've heard Up+A, but it doesn't work for my emulator) 3) (by the way) What emulator do you use? 4) Why Midoro palace before Parapa? 5) Why do you cancel level ups? 6) Do you remember the dungeon maps by memory? 7) Some general tips&tricks for beginners? thanks you in advance, if you'll happen to answer, and congrats for the run
@elaynet3824 ай бұрын
For 2, press Up+A on the second controller while the menu is open. Your other questions can all be answered by the phrase "optimal routing." Cancelling level ups in particular allows you to get attack levels up faster (you don't lose the experience when cancelling, so it goes towards the next level up)

Why is Hidden Town of Kasuto (45:55) listed as "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"? 😂
@EnjoySackLunch11 ай бұрын
Because the wizard there is Uncle Phil
@Nepter82486 ай бұрын
My best guess is because the town is hidden. Everybody there is actually from Kasuto (the ruined town at 54:07), but they all fled the town when monsters invaded it. In other words, a bunch of monsters started making trouble in the townspeople's neighborhood. They got in one fight, got scared, and moved away - possibly to a place where they had aunts and uncles who were willing to take them in.

“No major glitches” world record. You can add any criterion and make it a world record Check out my Zelda 2 speed run while sitting on my forearms world record 5:07:43
@Lite_zed5 ай бұрын
this is a really great way to diminish someone's fun thing they did on the internet while also showing how uneducated you are on a subject. the big discord channel we have of all the Zelda ii runners pretty much get together and discuss what's allowed in a speedrun category. you can also find the leaderboard for Zelda ii speedrunning online that will show all the different categories we have, the rules and all the different skilled people that play them! I probably have about 5000 hours or more in this game and have enjoyed learning every aspect of it with others. with your attitude you'll never accomplish anything nearly as meaningful as the runs and friends I've made playing this game.
@SonicTheHedgehog-mh6uw5 ай бұрын
@@Lite_zed I’m fluent in Japanese. Does that count as meaningful? By the end of the year, I’ll also have (finally) opened up my own small business. But yeah, I guess you’re right. It doesn’t quite compare to an unofficial world record speed-run with no major glitches.
I'm dead at the fact yall had to use google translate for this LMFAO

How is the fairy screen scroll not a major glitch
@rphntw1n6 ай бұрын
What is considered major or not varies by community standards. This run used to be called simply “100%” and glitches are allowed, then some very wild glitches were found, changing the name of this catagory. (Or something like that)

Great run....but why did you reset after getting Jump? Wouldn't it be quicker to just leave the town instead of going back?
@joshuasharrock466 Жыл бұрын
After you get the spell you have to walk out of the basement and then there's a black loading screen. You have to then walk out of the house followed by a second loading screen. Finally you have to walk out of the town and then get a third loading screen. When you reset you have to walk out of the beginning palace which is very short.. There's only one black loading screen and then just walk past jump town. It actually saves about the amount of time it would take for you to walk either out of the house or out of the town

Quick question. I’m the beginning jow did you go from the cave into your sub menu and somehow teleport to the continue menu?? How are you doing that?
@Lite_zed Жыл бұрын
this is basically a "save and quit" you can press up+A on the second controller while the game is paused, this forces a game over and lets you hit "continue" or "save" in z2, this starts you at the start of North Palace again, the only place it won't do this is in Great Palace
