It is definitely one of the more difficult Zelda games, though when you consider it in the wider pantheon of cheap-death, cheap-hit NES games it's probably one of the more balanced.

Zelda II is my favorite Zelda game. That's right, I said it! It needed to be said; in my opinion it's the best one! I love this piano arrangement. The point of critique (if you ever would ask) I'd profess is this: Segue between themes using modulation, variation, foreshadowing and tempo shift. Rather than cutting each piece, weave them together like fabric. Create a continuous medley, if you will.

@RicoLen129 күн бұрын
@adameves5970 You know what? Fair enough, on the OST track listing it IS called Palace theme, but while I heard the song originally from Zelda 2, I learned the name of the song from Super Smash Bros Melee's soundtrack listing and there I would have sworn had I not just double checked that it was called the temple theme, but it's not, it's Great Bay Shrine. Though in the wiki, it does reference the temple theme from Zelda 2. I'm not sure where the name came from. That's kinda weird!

It was back in 89 and I'd play it with my mom and dad who grinded this game out. One of these days I will muscle my way through Zelda II....I have played a little bit of it many times over the last few decades, on genuine hardware, emulators, the Switch but always hit a frustration wall. If nothing else, I will say it had some fantastic music, and the opening sequence with the shooting star and the subsequent music was not something you expected from the NES. The change to a side-scroller with RPG elements was IIRC a response to the growing popularity of RPGs series like Dragon Warrior.
