Who exactly is the Triforce Keeper (standing at the end of the game during the battle with Dark Link)? There is no explanation of who he is. And, there is no explanation if "Triforce Keeper" is his name. Is he a sage or a wizard; he must be some spirit.

Mr. M., not to mention it still retained the key elements of the Zelda formula. 1. Go to temple 2. Acquire item and defeat boss. 3. Access new area. 4. Rinse and repeat. It was simply a different battle system and perspective, but mostly the same type of game. No materially different than what makes final fantasy a consistent franchise.

@Taemien
@Taemien 4 жыл бұрын
There's an implication that has never been resolved. In the first Zelda game you save the current Zelda. Then Zelda 2 takes place immediately after. You save Zelda's ancestor. What happens after that? There are two Princesses here. Does the original simply live a normal life in a new age, does the other Zelda step down to give her ancestor the crown? The personalities of both are unknown, so we can only guess what happens. Though this would give us an interesting bit of intrigue if they ever decided to continue the series with a Zelda 3. I doubt they would though, but its fun to speculate.

I don't think it's all about discipline. I personally play games because life is hard and I need a break doing something that is not hard. So I usually put my games anywhere from normal to easy. I used to play on hard mode and legendary modes and stuff. But.... I just want to escape and live the fantasy world and enter a new role. Picking this game up with my parents after school from Toys R Us when it first came out is still one of my fondest memories as a kid. As me and my Dad spent so many nights playing this game. Well my Dad played and I watched. Well actually he played and I was his navigator. As me and my friends would discuss all the secrets undiscovered along with tactics we had to share. And being only 7 yrs. old at the time it was mostly our Dad’s or older brothers that were actually playing. But we absolutely loved watching our more experienced fathers and brothers make there way thru this cryptic game. And we didn’t have the internet for aid. At best we had school yard word of mouth coupled with Nintendo Power, Nintendo’s Gaming Guide and Electronic Gaming Monthly. And it was awesome. Getting thru this game with my Dad as a kid is still one of my favorite childhood memories. The only other game I spent hours upon days playing with my Dad as a kid was Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest. Another game that I have very fond memories both picking and playing with my Dad as a kid. Man I used to love going to Toys R Us’s gaming section back in the late 80’s with my Dad. As I always knew that we were definitely bringing one of those little paper slips up to the the gaming counter to redeem our game. Great times! And a wonderful game!

@@koichidignitythief7429 Well, duh. I'm older than Zelda 2. I'm just saying that from a story and lore standing the sages came first and the towns were named after them. There are also more towns than sages, with the two towns of Kasuto in particular being a mystery as to where the name comes from in the lore. Programming-wise there is no mystery at all. It's a name they used.

It was commercially successful and highly anticipated and regarded at the time of release. Anything else would be revisionist history. Besides, Nintendo did make a full sequel of Legend of Zelda on the NES, it's called "StarTropics".

Never beat this game as a kid. Was too hard for me. But I got great enjoyment of beating it on my NES MINI a couple years back. Great game. Never knew what I was doing with this game as a child. Yeah, I sucked haha. My fav part of this game is going thru the maze area towards the bottom left. Can’t remember what it’s called. I always enjoyed that area. Hard, but fun. Especially hard if you go there earlier in the game. If you build up a little bit it’s a bit easier. But that’s my fav part.

I think link didn’t actually wake up the ancient Zelda, he freed her spirit and went on to live with the present Zelda. In uniting the Triforce he also purified it, allowing Gannon to not be restored for he was no longer bound to the Triforce of power. Impa then told link and Zelda of the sacred realm, and suggested they keep the Triforce there so it would not be misused. So they put the Triforce in the temple of light and sealed the door with the magial sword.

So whats interesting here is that it's stated that the first king of Hyrule had the triforce. The first king was heavily implied in Skyward Sword that is was *that* Link from that game after they start to settle on The Surface. Which would mean that the prince would have been that Link's son and *this* Zelda would have been his daughter
