When my dad passed a couple weeks ago at the age of 65 in the hospital all I could do was think of this song. Strong and almost heart breaking at the end when he opened his eyes 2 times before leaving us. This, instead of portraying the horrific terror of impending death, seems to portray the pain. The sorrowful, hopeless realization of death. And the shattering, fragile peace that comes with it. Instead of thinking of someone quivering and crying in fear alone on the floor begging God for mercy and forgiveness, this makes me think of someone holding on tight to their family and friends, waiting with a resigned hollowness for death to come.

@Brandon Shepherd How about a TV show? The first episode could be like the beginning of the manga, where he travels the land as an expert swordsman, and the episode would end with him turning into the Deku scrub. The second episode would be the first three days. Next would probably be exploring Termina and meeting the people. Then four episodes for each dungeon. After that, there could be an episode where he goes around as fast as possible to help everyone and save the different areas of the game, ending with the four giants catching the moon. The final episode would be everything inside of the moon. How cool would all of that be? I'm a huge film/TV nerd and have put way too much thought into this...

Holy shit, this is amazing stuff! It totally evokes feelings of helplessness and despair; the colossal size of the moon; and the imminent destruction of all life. I got the chills at the climax at 2:40 when the French horns blare through the percussive synth hits, the mid-string ostinatos, and the lush high string long notes. I think you've totally outdone yourself with this! It is absolutely "epic."

Whenever they decide to make an HD version of that game, I'd apply as a componist if I was you. ^^ But to get serious again. This is not just music, but rather art. “Whenever there is a meeting, a parting is sure to follow. However, that parting need not last for ever. Wether a parting be forever, or merely for a short time… That is up to you.” This is my favorite quote from the entire Legend of Zelda, and nothing will ever top it. It summarizes everything and everyone that was lost, and how the Links parting ways with their loved ones need not be the end. Fi, Midna, Navi, Ezlo… You’re all out there somewhere.
