Totally missed out on mentioning Link actually appearing in Super Mario RPG. If you mentioned all the Wario Ware games, which aren't even Mario games, could have also mentioned Super Mario RPG.

Now, I know we are just seeing the mainstream games... but since the Zelda references aren't THAT much, I would have covered the rest (like Link in at Rose Inn in SMRPG). Also, in SMO, Link was supposed to be a costume, but was scrapped, the SM3DW one you forgot to add that the main theme can be heard after you complete the Link puzzle or that the Ocean theme, in SMB3 is the Fairy Fountain theme.

Notice the Flute in Super Mario Bros 3 NES and The prologue screen to link riding the horse in Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time has the same sound but LOZ ocarina of time builds more to the chime to make it music.

SM64 came out before OoT. We all thought the L referred to Luigi, but it was actually about Link. SM64’s “L is Real” was foreshadowing Link’s future appearance on the N64. This is definitely, totally, unarguably true.
