@@thibautisserant Precisely, and I think Zelda's muted reaction to the crowd carrying off Link and calling him the "Hero of Hyrule" is a sign of her appreciation of the fact that Link *IS* the hero of Hyrule, not the hero of Zelda. She took responsibility for herself and took care of her own problem, but that doesn't make her anyone elses' hero. Link might have put her plight on the backburner, but frankly, that was because he knew she didn't really need him to handle it. This is a pretty mature reaction from Zelda. Rather wholesome, isn't it?

@@liamdalemon1525 Actually it was the Royal Family that got Hyrule burned to cinders, had they not pissed off the Shekiah, that eventually became the Yiga, Astor wouldn't have had enough bodies to throw at Hyrule as a distraction whilst the Calamity grew in strength, no Yiga, no time for the Calamity to grow it's power, no dead Champions, no Calamity.

I'll be honest, it was nice to have Zelda accept that Link was still helping the people of Hyrule. Sure, this Link didn't fight Ganon and save Zelda, but he saved countless scores of Hyrule's citizens. Yeah, this Link didn't really do much for Zelda personally, but with Zelda preoccupied with her showdown with Ganon, she wouldn't have had a kingdom to save without link running crisis management in her absence. Sure, alot of what he was doing was pointless crap, but it was pointless crap that *mattered* to somebody. He didn't save Zelda. He wasn't *her* hero, but in the end, he was still the *peoples' hero.* It really speaks to Zelda's emotional maturity that she accepted that. I'm sure this Zelda will dedicate her time to bringing prosperity to Hyrule now that she doesn't have to worry about Ganon.

Guys, This is the Holy Roman Empire we are talking about in the game(At least the Hyrule Castle and Castle Town). Princess Zelda lives in the Hyrule Castle, which is heavily inspired (among other castles) from castles built during the Holy Roman Empire and the castle town is also heavily inspired by Holy Roman Empire's castle towns. We all must remember that the fragmented structure of Holy Roman Empire, for much of its history, may have lead to a lot of confusion, rebellions and civil wars but it also was the reason that the Holy Roman Empire could build so many great and beautiful cities plus an extremely dense network of roads, highways, ports and canals and have a high amount of economic and cultural development. The same is true for Hyrule. They may face destruction and despair because of whatever reason but that doesn't stop them from building more cities, constructing more roads, bridges, canals and striving to lead happy and prosperous lives.

Fighting giant monsters to grab ancient artifacts, helping townsfolk with their issues, and in general, being known in legend as the Hero to stop Ganon and save Hyrule. I mean, you say that, but the Guardians made it all the way to Akkala in force before Zelda awakened her power at Hateno. There are three inhabited human settlements, one of which was well hidden and difficult to get to, one of which survived only because of the aforementioned awakening and one you actually have to build yourself. You can find Guardians all over the place, in every region. Ruined villages litter the landscape. Even without the Divine Beasts, the Calamity had a very, very good chance at total victory if the Princess hadn't forced him into a stalemate.

Not only that, but the land you mention beyond the borders of the map is either the ocean or somewhere beyond an incredibly harsh desert or the equally harsh mountains to the north. These are not feasible options even to visit for most, let alone migrate in greater numbers.

@@RavenKing95 Well, given we had a game where Gannon is in possession of full triforce, had pursuing monsters insteads half chasing monsters and half dicking around people where just able to move before, it sort of lowers the tension. Also, you see plague i Zora's domain describng the Zora was able kill a guardian by throwing into the ocean, the Rito could fly off provided they don't fly to the altitude of Van Medoh, the people of Lurin could take to the sea. You ca explain it all you want but the climax of the game really felt like a tension deflater to me.

Hyrule as shown in BotW is about 24 square miles. That's huge in terms of exploring every bit of it on foot, but as far as countries go, it's not that big at all. To put it in comparison, that's only slightly larger than the island of Manhattan.

His old self may have had the sense to know that a king without a kingdom is meaningless, but he has little to no trace of his old self left. He already destroyed multiple towns in Hyrule. You can see them on the map as Ruins. Zelda managed to push him back into Hyrule Castle and contain him before he destroyed all of them.

He started by completely obliterating the core government but after that he really doesn't care what anyone else is doing, only being concerned with anyone who opposes him. if he wanted to destroy all of Hyrule he TOTALLY COULD HAVE DONE IT! He has a couple minions who pilot giant war machines, he would have easily been able to destroy all of civilisation given how long Link's resurrection took.

Ok, in order to defeat Gannon and save Zelda you have to be OVER PREPARED. You gotta get your sword which requires at least 13-15 hearts, you gotta free the divine beasts, and all the while you get stopped by randos in the hopes that you get something worthwhile. But that’s why I think I got so charged up about this because it’s so relatable so 10/10 no notes! Great job!
