Now and then, I get an inquiry as to whether or not I've played Skyward Sword since I covered Fi's theme over a year ago. I did receive the game mere days after uploading that cover, and ever since I've wanted to work with this melody! There was something very striking to me about the music in Lanayru in general, but particularly the shack buried by time.
Live instruments used are the same I used for Fi - Low whistle, pennywhistle, oboe and English horn. The middle minute or so is a take on "Lanaryu Sand Sea", which is pretty safe to assume as the longest oboe solo in the franchise.
I'm not sure which of the composers wrote this one, Hajime Wakai, Shinbo Fujii, Mahito Yokota, Takeshi Hama, or Koji Kondo, but Zelda music does not belong to me!

This is my ABSOLUTE favorite song from Skyward Sword! For a few months, I'd been planning a remix of it myself, but I had yet to think of a way to improve upon it. You've succeeded!

I have found almost no remix with Lanayru Sand Sea. And that's a shame, since in my opinion it's the most beautiful soundtrack in the game. And then I found this. I cried tears of joy. A wonderful piece

Something about this cover creates a very nostalgic atmosphere where you just stare at the Lanayru sand sea and remembering all of the memories that have slumbered in the depths of your mind that were waiting to be awakened from its years of prepetual darkness.

I have to say that this level was my favorite part of SS just because of the music and some of what you see in the level itself. Did you know? That among the ruins of that old house, there is an old photo of skipper and his son on the Sand Ship. As well as a note written to skipper from his wife and son. Both of which lie rusted and dead on the floor of the house awaiting Skipper's return. It may be sad, but we can learn from it. A ton of the things in that house remind us that even in video games nothing is eternal. Time passes from game to game and characters die (or in Link and Zelda's place get reincarnated). But there will still always be characters like Skipper, who just end up forgotten and lost to the ages. And out of all honesty I think SS is going to have a lot more characters like that that some of the newer Zelda games. Thinking back on it, I can name some at the moment besides Skipper that may very well end up this way. Fi will most likely be pushed aside despite her presence in Hyrule Warriors. Telma and company from twilight princess will definitely fade out because despite being major characters and having okay character development they only appeared a few times in game Ezlo from Minish Cap, the game is old and I don't see a remake of the game coming any time soon. It would make sense if anyone asked who he was in a comment below. Linebeck despite being memorable and in two games he really doesn't stick to a person's head that much. And he (personal opinion here so don't kill me) is almost as annoying as Navi just for the manner in which he treats Link. Finally the Lokomos from Spirit Tracks, a not a lot of zelda fans have played Spirit Tracks because the game is severely under rated and despite being one of the better Zelda games copies are getting even harder to find. Which may lead to their downfall despite being some of the most helpful characters in the game.

Sketching Calamity Malon, Talon, and Ingo have returned a few times. However, they just might be ancestors with the same names. Let's not forget Tingle. I really don't know how he keeps reappearing. I think the clock necklace allows him to time travel and go into different dimensions.

This music is in my opinion the most ambiental sound in all of video-gaming. It fits a sand sea perfectly in some way. And I'm baffled there are such few fan renditions of it. But still, this one is flawless Just close your eyes and think you're in a sand sea desert with the sand streaming like rivers and seas, all from the top view of Skipper's home.

Skipper’s suffering is probably the saddest and most poignant thing I’ve seen in and Zelda game period. He lost his crew and his wife and child and though you can save his crew his wife and child are gone... forever and so is his sea... he’s a being from the past only alive in a tormented bubble of the future... when the adventure concludes its best if he deactivates one final time forever. So he may Rest In Peace... I really got attached to the little guy. He was a holy AI but he suffered so much despite being as pure as the angels he was built after... I’m glad I missed this when playing as I would have broken down in tears... even listening to this and pondering what he would have felt makes me cry... he’s probably the most innocent character in the game and he gets the worst suffering of them all...

you put it perfectly...for such a minor character, his story was crafted incredibly well. i wish the other sections of this game had stories with even half as much power and emotion as this

This piece is one of the best things about Skyward Sword, and your cover of it is fantastic. I love the way you transition into and out of the timeshift boat music as well. Please keep doing Zelda music, especially the lesser-known gems like this, as you seem to have a great ear for them (loved your Spirit Temple cover as well) and a gift for covering them in a way that surpasses the originals. A couple of suggestions that might fit your style: Temple of Droplets from Minish Cap, or a dungeon theme from Link Between Worlds (they're all variations on the same theme).
