In today's zelda theory/game theory video we are going to look at the origin, secrets, timeline, story, lore, mysteries, and history of the child timeline from the legend of the zelda. In this timeline link prevented the fight with ganondorf and hyrule had a war with the gerudo and ganondorf. In this timeline there are games like the legend of zelda twilight princess, the legend of zelda four swords adventures, the legend of zelda majora's mask and it all started with the legend of zelda ocarina of time. But in what ways did it affect the world? how did the hylians, gorons, zoras kokiri and others deal with that? Well it's time to find out!

Dr.Wily hey here's a theory you can do. I have this theory that the adult timeline does not have a hero but instead like the Fallen timeline in the Zelda universe has a player or a link that has to prove himself by doing outrageous challenges in prove himself by the Gods reason why you don't automatically activate the master sword when it's in your hands or automatically get the Triforce of courage or just automatically not have the god in the Tower of the Gods not attacking you they were all challenges to prove if you can be a hero unlike in the child timeline where the sword is just automatically powerful in your hands and you don't really have to prove yourself you just get thrown challenges not something to prove but overcome. and this would also explain why Gannon is not as evil in Wind Waker on like Gannon in the Fallen timeline or Ganon in the child timeline yes he has still done some pretty evil things but for being Gannon supposed to be the very embodiment of evil seems pretty chill and laid back and only wants to restore Hyrule back to its former glory yes maybe the claim it for his own or maybe to actually be good to the people who really knows but is that really evil. the reason why I think he's good is because there's no hero The Stomp and down breaking the cycle of the hero spirit the guardian of the Triforce and the embodiment of evil without the hero the circle's broken.

even though its been some time, i just had to add a thought.. on earth the magnetic poles have shifted naturally more than once. It might be possible that the poles tend to shift, maybe naturally, maybe as a result of drastic climate and/or geographic change (or even the gods work, however for what point..). That might also exsplain the general inconsistencies of the maps across the games

1:22 The war couldn't possibly have lasted so short a time. The time between Ocarina and Twilight are at the very least a few decades, when the kingdom was not only made into the Sacred Grove, complete ruins, but as well, the kingdom that would succeed it built somewhere else. The geological landscape can change QUICKLY during war, this is true. But the natural restoration of the environment couldn't happen in only a week. It needs time. Not to mention the Hero's Shade, arguably Ocarina's dead Link, who fell defending Hyrule, possibly being the one to capture Ganondorf because of the Twiforce of Courage. While I'm at it. Why is Twilight's link a farmer? Didn't Lon Lon become a vulnerable and helpless CASUALTY of the war??? That's where Ocarina-Link comes in, if the Malon theory is accurate. Link defended the ranch, and not only saved it, he possibly owned it, and helped it's steady expansion to Ordon. This can be taken with a grain of salt, but the evidence is abundant.

+Grand Minumus: This statement is only valid in the adult timeline. In the child timeline, different things happen and so it's possible that they change differently. And the following thing is a BotW spoiler: There are many evidences BotW happens in the child timeline and so after twilight princess. There's a deku tree and koroks, so they have to survive somehow. This could mean they were hidden somewhere during Twilight Princess or the koroks transformed from Kokiris to Monkeys.

ive played botw so this isnt spoiler. also i dont believe that the kokiri can become monkeys and then mini trees. this brings up the fact that saria cant be the monkey w/ the bow in TP, because you later see her in the arbiters grounds, as one of the sages.

One thing to remember about the Kokiri, is that their grove is hidden from outsiders by the power of the deku tree, the deku tree died in OoT but it's sprout grows on its own several years later, so if Ganondorf was contested by the races of hirule, it's likely he didn't make it to Kokiri forest, and thus the Kokiri were consealed forever from the outside world by the new deku tree when it regrew. Faron woods, Kokiri forest and the Lost woods are not the same place, they are 3 different locations with their own lore.

If what allowed the little sprout to, well, sprout was the evil in the Forest Temple, then if Ganon didn't take over, Ganon wouldn't have filled the temple with evil and therefore the sprout would have sprouted a lot sooner as well.

How could the Kokiri die out in the child timeline, when Ganon lost the war, while they are alive in the adult timeline, where Ganon won the war? One can visit them as adult Link and they don't seem to suffer under the reign of Ganondorf.

About the Kokiri it is believed that they evolved into the Ordonians and that the villagers of Ordon are their decedents such as Twilight Link being the decedent of OoT Link. How it came to be it's believed when Link came back to Hyrule after saving Termina to the Hyrule-Gerudo war the Kokiri where with out a guardian since the Great Deku tree did die and the Great Deku Sprout hasn't been planted or grown yet. Since Link has taken on fierce monster such as giant lizards and demonic mask he felt more than ready to become a new guardian for the Kokiri and thus lead them to safety deeper into the Lost Woods and established a new town in the Ordon province and along the way brang Malon and her father to safe them from this war too. Could also explain why the Hero Shade is covered in vegetation and is wearing ruined armor he died protecting his new home in the woods leading there. This theory is further supported by concept art for the Ordonians that a lot of them where heavily influenced by the art of the Kokiri such as Ilia being influenced by Saria and Navi but mostly Navi for her early concept art she had a fairy marking on her forehead. Same for her father mayor Bo who was influenced by the Great Deku tree and his concept art had the Kokiri Emerald marked on his forehead. But that's just one take on it. After all the Kokiri did become tree people in Wind Waker and it's believed that the only reason the Kokiri where even children to begin with was cause they Great Deku tree wanted Link to feel more at home than be the only human in a village in of tree people or what ever they where before.

I don't think that Ganon commanded a Gerudo army. His army was likely composed of various monsters and allegiances with monster bosses, just as we saw in Ocarina of Time. Besides Twinrova, the only way he could get any Gerudo to side with him was by converting them into Iron Knuckles.

As much as I really think Twilight Princess map being oot map upside down is clever, the maps of skyward sword and botw show faron woods below Hyrule Castle like oot. meaning I don't take upside down

What I have trouble with, in terms of the map, is the location of the lost woods. In Breath of the Wild and in Link to the Past, it is in the northwest of Hyrule. In Ocarina of Time, the lost woods are where in Breath of the Wild and Twilight Princes is Faron forest. That it is the lost woods is evident by the presence of the Great Deku Tree in OoT, which in TP is the wood temple, composed of the remains of the great Deku and the grown up new Deku tree. In LttP, there is no Deku tree, neither in the lost woods in the northwest nor in the green region in the southeast. in BotW, the Deku tree is in the north west lost woods, not in the south east lost woods, aka faron forest, where it is in OoT.

In the big field in front of Castle town in TP you can see the remains of the original castle. Also the Kokiri were not killed off they were breed out by the hylians who fled from the war into the lost woods and Kokiri village. Many Hylians (possibly including Maron and her father) stayed in Kokiri village after the war. Given the central location of Lon Lon Ranch it's possible it was heavily damaged or even destroyed thanks to the war, thus Maron and her father fled to Kokiri village and set up a new ranch there. The village was renamed Ordon village and over the years the Hylians and Kokiri intermarried and had mix race children. The Hylian genes, however, were more dominate than the Kokiri's and so the kokiri were slowly breed out. How is it I know this? It's because many of the traditions of the Kokiri still live on. Such as the villagers living in trees, or house that look like trees, and maintaining the forest temple to a degree.

They never age above what seems to be 10ish and I don't see that working out very well. They probably just abandoned the original kokiri village and withdrew deep into the lost woods

If you pay attention to when people talk about the koroks in botw it turns out theyre invisible to most people and referred to as "forest spirits" Plus even Hestu is surprised that you can see him. Actually literally the first korok you run into will be surprised you can see him

Ganondorf didn't kill all of the kokiri, in the manga, after being asleep for 7 years link goes to the kokiri forest in search for the forest sage (saria). Link sees some of the kokiri but they don't recognise link, so I do think that the monkeys in tp are the kokiri.

Melanie Decker From what I read in Hyrule Historia it said Ganondorf already had the triforce of power, which is why he could use magic, but couldn’t enter the Sacred Realm or obtain the completed triforce because when Link came from the future he already possessed the triforce of courage. From that information I think that in this new timeline the triforce was already split up to begin with as a result of this, idk though

The wii version of twilight princess is mirrored from the GameCube version because of right handed players, if you use the GameCube map you don't have to flip it upside down. the sacred grove is in the south, desert to the west, Zoras domain to the east, and death mountain to the east.

I believe that the castle and town are meant to be the same: their location relative to the other landmarks (Death Mountain, Kakariko, Lake Hylia, the woods) holds more ground that way. The Temple seems to be the only outlier, having been relocated to the forest for unknown (probably gameplay) purposes. The ruins of the Lost Woods and Sacred Grove appear to be parts of a temple site and not a town: definitely not Hyrule Castle Town, since there's nothing resembling it there at all. But the temple being located in the southern woodlands holds up in Skyward Sword (Sealed Temple) and Breath of the Wild, where at some point in time prior to the Calamity, it was being used as a site of worship once again. That's my understanding, anyway.

Here's an interesting theory: what if Ganondorf in BotW became victim to his own powers, and that's why they say things like "it gave up on reincarnation and assumed its purest form" or something like that, Demise's influence doesn't think it needs Ganondorf to use them anymore, they use themselves. This could explain why Ganon in Four Swords Adventures(assuming BotW takes place after TP) wants to resurrect Vaati, it's not Ganon, it's his power, devoid of consciousness, looking for a vessel to hold it, i.e. Vaati.

Wily, i feel regarding the fate of races in the child timeline: the Kokori: option 1: The Gerudo wiped them out. 2:The Kokori esacped tp Terimina to avoid being caught in the middle of the war. 3: The Kokori being Shape Shifters constantly took different Forms of Animals to avoid Detection. 4: They fleed to unknown parts. if The Gerudo slaughtered them and Link tragically discovered this, then it would Link spread word of what happen, then it Would Increase the Hatred of Gerudo.. The realization of what the Gerudo did would demonize them, The tragic loss would somewhat influence Link to eventually become a Hylian Solider... The Genocide of the Kokori would lead to change of events that worsen the Gerudo situation after they loss the war.... The Gerudo that were captured and taken prisoner were Toutured and Excuted in Artibuters Grounds and the gerudo surrendered were were spared but are treated like Second Class Citizens and eventualy fully became apart of Hyrule society

4:09 That's actually the mirrored map from the Wii version of TP or Hero Mode of TP HD. In the normal map, lake Hylia is still in the south-western corner with the Gerudo desert north of it. Death mountain is on the north-east with Kakariko just south of it. Now, the Lost woods, Master Sword and Temple of Time being south-east of the lake is odd.

It is sait in Hyrule encyclopedia (not Hyrule Hystoria) that kokiris are hylians and the fact that if they live the forest they die was a lie by the great deku tree to protect them. It seems that there were Hylian living far far from the cities. also it is said that Ganondorf isn't the reincarnation of Demise. According to Hyrule Encyclopedia Demise's curse of his hatred haunting Link and Zelda didn't start with his death, but after Ganondorf was sealed in the Evil Realm in the end of OoT ;) Gerudo: They live very long, and used to be a band of "good thieves" similar to Robin Hood (i.e. "robbing from the rich and giving to the poor") before Ganondorf led them to be the opposite. Hylian males find their exotic looks very attractive. Termina: So, apparently, Termina is a world created by Skull Kid using the power of Majora's Mask based on his own memories and wishful thinking/imagination (a la Koholint Island), hence the similarities between Hyrule and Termina. The Gaints, also created by the mask, are the representations of the spirits that Skull Kid had a deep connection with, but left. The dawn of the new day is pretty much a reflection on Skull Kid's mental state when he accepted that people can still be friends even if they are far apart. Since Skull Kid is now happy and the mask is rid of all evil power, the moment Link leaves Termina the land ceases to exist. For the moment the book is in Japanes and all of this has been translated to english.

RwanLink Some HE info such as OOX being after LA and featuring a different Link could be valid, but the remark about Demise's curse makes no sense. Demise specifically stated "An incarnation of my(his) hatred" would follow Link and Zelda.. It makes no sense for Demise's hatred to be incarnated into Ganon's sealing in the SR when Ganon came from Ganondorf, Ganondorf was born from two surrogate mothers who were witches (surrogates to whom btw?) who share a different skintone to regular Gerudo, who are a race of all women. There was already something irregular about Ganondorf's birth prior to him ever being sealed, Zelda's prophecy even portrayed Ganondorf as dark clouds and Link had nightmares of Ganondorf at the start of OOT which replicates SS's intro about Link seeing Zelda get swallowed by the forgotten... Aunoma even stated they have Demise red hair and set it on fire to resemble Ganondorf... This is where bs is called and HE has taken creative liberties with the narrative.

My reasoning is that the koroks are the kokiri's true form and they took on the form of the kokiri during ocarina of time for the sake of the hero of time. then they either died out or if botw is apart of the child timeline, they returned to their original form. If that is the case they could've been in hiding during twilight princess and then returned when the great deku tree flourished. Idk just a thought

Also, I'm pretty sure that the kokari are in fact gone, as the forest depended on the deku tree as a guardian. Link couldn't save him in any timeline, and without link, the deku sprout may never have survived. It also makes sense the the forest temple is simple the remains of the great deku tree, which they fell back on and expanded on to take shelter in as the war raged closer. And if I'm right that forest temple of tp is the deku tree, there is obviously no deku sprout to protect them from anything. The temple was never sieged, it was poisoned, the monsters empowered by Gannon's triforce, and the kokari were systematically slaughtered from the inside by spiders, deku babbas and exploding bugs. Of course, this would mean that botw couldn't be on this timeline, which I hope it is tbh

I think the Kokiri would have reverted back into Koroks, since they didn't need to be "human" anymore; Remember, OoT Link's tragic-backstory resulted in him being left with the Great Deku Tree and subsequently the Koroks. So that he could "fit in" with the kids while he was growing up there, the Great Deku Tree told the Koroks to assume a human form for a while, at least until Link grew up and left... For [probably] immortal forest spirits, this wouldn't be very long...

I think that the ruins of old Hyrule castle, castle town and temple of time were magically transported in the sacred grove, because if they had left those ruins where there used to be and moved to the north, this would mean that death mountain, lake Hylia and even zora's domain would have moved too. And I don't really think that Hyrule has 2 volcanos, you know. If they were able to magically transported the destroyed hyrule caste town in the woods, let's say for example to protect the master sword, then this also explains the great plateau in BOTW as it's said in the game that it is the birthplace of the kingdom, but it is located in the south. If they moved it once, why not move it twice.

the zora definitely moved , they are on the opposite side of the map and is connected to lake hylia via a waterfall in tp whereas it was a small underground passage that barely makes sense already . Zoras probably got friggen whooped . The race didnt militarize until tp

At 8:00 you said that the Kokiri died out because of Ganon's invasion on Hyrule. However, I think they died out because Ganon killed the Great Deku Tree, and no hero was around to awaken the next one.

I'm pretty sure that the rebel member on the tower between lake hylia and the desert explains where the 4th dungeon came from and I believe it was built by the hylians as a prison/execution grounds.

Downfall timeline is my favorite timeline despite not having a single 3D game (although its possible BotW could be.) Either way I'm still waiting for a 3D game in that split dammnit 😂. Hopefully if they make an Imprisoning War game they will make it interesting by atleast having it be 3D.

Mohan Grewal It's 2.5D. People considered games like OoT, TP, WW, SS etc to be 3D games. Zelda 1, Zelda 2 AoL, ALttP, LA FSA, etc as 2D games. Games that combine those two aspects kind of like ALBW, TFH, arguably PH and ST are considered 2.5D.

7:51 No one in a Zelda game EVER seemed to identify the Koroks or distinguish Kokiris from normal Hylean children, so maybe no one knows how the Kokiri were before their monkey form started to show up. Some Kokiris could even be hidden between Hylean children (I have a theory based on almost nothing that the girl in TP who collects bugs is a direct descendent of the Kokiri waiting for the right time to do... something)

i was at the library and then I saw a magazine with a breath of the wild cover,and I obviously got it and stumbled apon a page about the timeline and it said that breath of the wild is in the child timeline and said the game is just full of references of the other games

I have a theory. I believe the reason the Kokiri took on the form of children was only due to their companion fairy 🧚‍♀️. Fairies are known to have magical powers, but every Kokiri except Link has one. You do not see the Koroks with fairies because they do not need to take on the form of children.

This theory is pretty interesting and i liked ur video but heres a fact that could affect the theory. At the end of Oot link returned with the courage triforce so the trifrce split in that time also so zelda and ganondorf got the triforce without knowing it, so if ganon had the triforce of power and we also know that the triforce reacts when the person who has it relly need it, like in twilight princess that the triforce ssved ganondorf, ganondorf could need power during that war, so my question is why did the power triforce didnt gave him that power that he needed?

In ocarina of time link plants and new deku tree in the adult era but link didn’t in the child era. But the Deku tree protects the kokiri so they died off due to monster invasion and ganondorf
