To everyone wondering about why Molgera's theme isn't on the list: we really don't think it's a good boss theme. Sure, it's catchy, it's cheerful, but in our opinion, it doesn't match the setting or boss battle well. If you disagree with us, that's fine! No problem at all, but we just don't see it is a well fitting boss theme. We felt the need to explain it here, since so many people have wondered :)

TheOwnersOfTriforce all your videos have some TP bias and that’s okay. SS deserves a couple spots because it’s sound track is awesome. TP has a decent soundtrack, but putting two similar TP songs on over Molgera is a clear bias. Again, having a bias towards a certain game is fine, just don’t try to deny that bias

@@Eagleye-ws1lk We can admit to having a certain bias here and there, but having two TP songs over Molgera is no bias at all when we, honestly, don't see the fit at all, as we've already said. Molgera's theme does nothing for us as a boss battle theme. We'd understand your comment better if you claimed we had a bias towards TP over WW in general, cause that is more true than just Molgera alone, as that theme would be far from our 1st pick from WW. It's a good piece of music, but a terrible boss theme, in our opinion.

In think that the reason many people talks about molgera's theme is because even though it might no be the most epic or over the top theme it pictures the whole essence of ww. I agree, it might no be one of the best boss themes but it gets the job done pretty well. Also I agree with you about the tp themes. Yes that game is linear and easy to beat but speaking about design, music and aesthetics is by far way better than other zelda games. You can tell that it was put a lot of effort and love in the process of creating a beautiful game and its soundtrack is amazing (even more when you listen the orchestrated versions of the songs). So I don't mind if you add two themes 😅 Good video though!!

It has great music, but we don't find the boss music in that game particularly good. Gohdan was probably the closest to making it, though.

+TheOwnersOfTriforce Do you think molgera would maybe fit the earth temple better than the wind temple? I mean a sand worm in a wind dungeon when there is a dungeon literally called the earth temple ( this is excluding dungeon items, obviously)

Probably. The thing is that the Earth Temple has a lot of horror elements. It's not really a dungeon we feel is very fitting for an "Earth" Temple, but had it been more like...underground caves, for example, rather than tombs and what not, then Molgera could definitely have fit better there.

Play the game, and you will ;) Seriously though, we wanted to have it there, but we couldn't find a sound file with just the chanting to add onto it. If we'd mix in background music from actual gameplay that has the chanting, it would only be a mess with too much sound at once.

Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess getting the love they deserve, those games have the best boss music even today. RIP Molgeras Battle, that theme is easily better then some of the lower on the list. Personally, I found it was incredibly motivating to beat the boss in the Wind Temple, and the song was very memorable.

True :) It's got a lot of different music, and almost no music piece plays at two different places. We especially like that when it comes to bosses and dungeons :)

It was composed by some of the same composers of the Mario Galaxy soundtrack, and the Moldarach/Koloktos theme sounds very Galaxy overall. Plus, the Mario Galaxy composers were awesome at creating any kind of song, hence Skyward Sword sounding so awesome.

I'm surprised Zant's battle theme isn't higher on the list! I absolutely LOVED that battle and thought the music was amazing and perfectly set the atmosphere of the fight. I'm a little biased toward anything from TP though; I adore that whole game. My other favorite boss themes from that game are Blizzeta (so glad it was on the list), Ook (forest temple miniboss) and Armogohma. I also loved Stallord's music, but it was more generic in comparison to the other bosses in the game, whereas the three that I mentioned have always stuck out a lot to me, and I love how the Zant battle took some of those memorable themes and put a twist on it.

Like we have told SO many other people asking about Molgera's theme: yes, it is catchy, but we don't think it's a good boss theme at all, and certainly not for a boss like Molgera. The battle against it is pretty great, but the music is no help for us. We feel it's too cheery and catchy, that it almost becomes silly that it's actually a boss theme. Compared to the one we picked as #1, it's far behind in terms of making a boss battle feel important, serious and great. We don't think it deserves #1 at all when we consider these matters.

@@TheOwnersOfTriforce its not about molgera, its about link. Molgera is the first true boss fight in that game, its about your fight, not a dark and foreboding chorus to tell you how ominous molgera is, but a fiery and uplifting one.

Zant's battle theme is definitely my #1 because it was original, matched Zant perfectly, and took the most effort to compose. It was a Twilight realm remix to the light world and actually painted a picture to a mirrored world. It could not have been better. Good list!

Sorry it took so long for me to comment on this video. I was without wifi for a few days. :( Anyway, this was a cool list and I thought that the way you mixed the music with your commentary was very effective. My favorite from the series is Malladus, because of the way it uses the Sacred Duet and the Realm Overworld in the tune. However, you said no final bosses, so Blizzeta Phase 2 is my favorite in that regard. I also really like Molgera, but I remember you saying in another video that the music didn't fit the boss, so I knew that theme wouldn't be on the list. I completely understand your top three themes. ALTTP fight is iconic and fast paced, Ghirahim's theme fits his fight and character like a glove, and Koloktos has an extremely epic theme! Great list as usual and I can't wait for top ten mini bosses and more! :)

One thing I like about your channel is that you don't limit your Zelda games to TV console games. It seems like most KZbin channels don't seem to think that GameBoy Zelda games were true Zelda games or something. I like the fact that you let the handheld Zelda games stand up against the TV console games as they were meant to. It's not like GameBoy games, especially Zelda games, were ports of TV console games. Nintendo didn't do that. The Zelda titles for the GameBoy were their own unique game. Also, Nintendo also pushed the envelope with the GameBoy as I suspect they do with their newest consoles. I personally always thought the GameBoy was an 8 bit platform, but it was only a 4 bit platform. Considering what they managed to do with that plus the 4 shades of grey, limited refresh response of the LCD screen used (in spite of the 60Hz refresh rate), sound only consisting of (I think) two channels of square wave, one channel of sawtooth, and one channel of noise on both channels of stereo sound, the GameBoy always seemed like a more powerful system than it really was.

Great video guys, I totally agree with you! My personal favourite boss theme, anyway, is Gohdan's Theme (or Quartoxuma, don't know exactely what's the right one) from The Wind Waker: I think it fits to the atmosphere and the boss himself, and also has a bit of epicness in my opinion. Well, my absolutely favourite boss theme is the final Ganondorf from Wind Waker, but it's a final boss theme, so I hope to see it on the list :)

Breath of the Wild entry for this list: Attack on Vah Ruta. Wow. Where do I even begin with this theme. It's catchy, well-composed, and fits everything about the fight perfectly. Also, it turns out that it's a remix of Sidon's and Mipha's themes, which really enhances the atmosphere even more.

My favorite (not yet released at the time of this video's release) is definitely Dark Beast Ganon Battle from botw. As a stand alone song, it might not sound like a boss battle outright (calamity ganon phase 1 and phase 2 sure do, though), but I do think it is absolutely perfect for the atmosphere of what you're doing at that particular point of the game -- riding your horse shooting light arrows. What a wonderful composition.

I realy want to write my own decision but the just 3 or 4 boss themes stuck in my mind so I just say it was a good list and realy top 10 mini bosses you two are the best.

Personally, I’m a huge fan of the theme from the twinrova fight in OoT. I just find it fits with the theme of Kotake and Koume. It’s and incredible piece and I just find it gets over looked sometimes.

You should make a list of the best Zelda overworlds (By that I mean all the land outside the dungeons and mini dungeons per game) and rank them by things like: how well they are displayed, how big they are, how fun they are to explore, and/or how much variety they have. If that is too much you could instead talk about locations in the world that have 1 or 2 dungeons and maybe some mini dungeons (example: Death Mountain, Lanyayru Sand Sea, etc). I can understand if you're too busy to follow either suggestion, I just like exploring overworlds and areas a lot.

I definitely agree with number 1. Moldarach's/Koloktos's theme kicks so much ass it's not even funny. Sometimes I even listen to it while I'm playing other games, and it still fits really well. Was kinda sad not to see Molgera, which is up there in my all time favorites (of any video game music), but was happy to see both Blizzeta and Moldarach/Koloktos. Both incredible themes, for incredible bosses. I thought the theme fit Moldarach fine. And actually, on one of my playthroughs, it played at the tempo of Koloktos's second phase. That really made him seem a lot more epic. Shame he was easy, but regardless, he was an intimidating boss with a great theme. Cant wait for Breath of the Wild!!

We're glad you do :) It really does kick ass. Well, we've expressed our feelings towards Molgera's theme before, in that we don't find it to be a good boss theme at all. Sure, the music is catchy, but we feel it's so out of place for the battle. The battle itself is really, really good though. Really? It played with the higher tempo? Does it do it on Hero Mode or something? We bet it felt more epic...
