Always recall the story about Miyamoto blowing up at staff behind the scenes due to the live demo breaking (the enemy apparently failed to drop his sword, blocking progression). The funniest part is, you can see the enemy’s sword on the ground at 5:49 hahaha. Poor designers yelled at for nothing.

Haven’t played WW since the 2000s, not because I think it’s bad or anything. Footage makes it look like the game barely changed throughout its lifetime; we have some pretty different proto maps so we know that’s not true. There are some ancient builds in there and I can’t spot anything different besides some small details everyone knows about. Link has the Hurricane Spin from the onset and in 1:56 he can do some kind of evasive/strategic leap. Following Miyamoto’s PR line to defend WW’s then controversial aesthetic (or a strange artist’s opinion on realism) he drops the bombshell in 8:39 that WW used to take place in the beginning of the timeline. Although he said he’s not too involved in the project so how accurate is his statement?
@AdamDoree Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback! Sometimes it's difficult for me to know whether or how much early demos footage changed from the final thing in cases where I never really played the final game (this being one such example I'm afraid). But since there were a few requests for all my WW material I figured I'd put it altogether in one video for the fans to figure out what is interesting or not!
@protocetid Жыл бұрын
@@AdamDoree No, thank you for helping fans preserve gaming history! Yes it’s best to include it all just to be safe. You’ll be surprised to hear that retail WW takes place at the end of the storyline (until it got DS sequels), quite a dramatic shift I know. Please don’t be disheartened when there aren’t analytical comments like mine, sometimes the fans are examining these elsewhere like a Discord server. I comment on things I know about and think I have something interesting to say. Have fallen behind on your uploads.

@@protocetid Ha, all the Discord-based analysis is taking away the algo juice from these YT vids... It seems my Luigi video is the only one so far to get some recirculation love from the YT gods, probably because it passed 50k views but who really knows...

Would you happen to have any gameplay footage of the Mario Kart Double Dash Demo from E3 2003? There are only a few gameplay videos of the E3 2003 demo, and there's next to no gameplay footage of DK Mountain or Mushroom City anywhere, two courses that are known to be in the demo, with Mushroom City having major visual differences compared to the retail game.
@AdamDoree Жыл бұрын
Hmm, are you saying that footage like this would be considered "lost" / a big deal? ibb.co/k1ZZTrv
@SuperGameCube Жыл бұрын
@@AdamDoree Indeed. There's hardly any footage of Mushroom City or DK Mountain from E3 2003 compared to Luigi Circuit. Mushroom City is the one with the most differences out of any of them, it's almost completely different from the final game visually, as far as I can tell only a single video of it has ever been posted to the internet, and it doesn't even show the entire course.

@@SuperGameCube Hey I just wanted to follow up on MKDD. The screenshots I posted above are from some E3 2003 broll we had, that seems to already be widely available eg kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYjQfZx9isSgl5Y and kzbin.info/www/bejne/fImTq32KbtWLma8 and kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZXQpquQa5qFfas (from 2:48). There are also good clips such as kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpexk6VujMiaerM and kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4HKqZ1pjL-cqqs which are all generally better than what I've got of MKDD from E3 2003. The only segment I seem to have that I am not sure is elsewhere on YT, is the first 40 seconds of this video which I have uploaded as a sample/unlisted, it doesn't seem anything special to me, but please lmk what you think? kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGqviI2niNCHfrs

Would you possibly have any Footage from ECTS 2003 by any chance? I know you went the year after, it would just be interesting if you have any footage from that...
@AdamDoree Жыл бұрын
Ha, it was difficult to take ECTS seriously for coverage any more after I started TGS and E3 from 1999, but from 1995-1998 or so, ECTS was amazing to me (as just a high school kid). I do have a bunch of ECTS tape from 2000 though, plus the adjacent “PlayStation Experience” event from 2002, and a Kevin Bachus interview also from ECTS 2002. I don’t think I went any more after that. In 2004 it was “EGN” and “GameStars Live”, they glory days of ECTS were long gone. Nothing from 2003 I’m afraid.
@MarioKartSuperCircuit Жыл бұрын
@@AdamDoree Wait you have ECTS 2000 footage? Out of most of the events, I've noticed this one particular seems to be very scarce online and I know there was some good demos shown off there, I believe Nintendo even shown off some early GBA games there at some point, it would be cool to see any footage of that event if you indeed have it. As for 2003 I was asking because I noticed on the Kikizo archives it had an article written by you about the event, I just know not a lot of footage has come up from any of the events, and it would be cool to see what it looked like.
@AdamDoree Жыл бұрын
@@MarioKartSuperCircuit Quite a bit of ECTS 2000 yes but it's all showfloor/booths stuff (and some of Sony's party), not game footage I'm afraid. (Except, the prototype Xbox/demos closed-doors stuff I already posted, was also from ECTS 2000).
@MarioKartSuperCircuit Жыл бұрын
@@AdamDoree you know what, it would still be really cool to see what the event looked like, even if there was no real game footage captured... I'm afraid in the next couple years stuff like ECTS and E3 won't happen anymore and it's good to give people an idea of what it looked like honestly. Plus sometimes the booths have rare promotional artwork that could be interesting to see.
