Damn right. F16s need a lot of maintenance and long runways. To be blunt, these planes were effective 29 years ago but now they are relics of the past. Ask yourself why has the US and Isreal moved on to better planes. Yes you guessed it. The F22and F35 are far better planes. And best of all comes with dealing with the best intergrated air defence out there, in Russian hands. Leaving the F16s rendered useless, because the minute they take off in Ukrainian airspace they will be shot down. And even if services in nearby NATO countries these bases there will be destroyed. A last parting gift by NATO but a cruel one for the pilots and maintenance crews who will sadly pay the price for their folly.

You cannot solve Ukraine battlefield problems with 30 jets. Zelenski needs 500 modern tanks, 2,000 Bradley's or similar, and resupply monthly of 100 tanks and 250 Bradley's in order to replace the losses necessary to wage offensive warfare through heavily defended and mined lines. Ukraine would have to also deploy at least 120,000 troops to the attack. He also needs about 200 minefield clearing vehicles. You cannot wage offensive warfare without a lot of material. What the west has provided is a joke against a modern army.
